Dude, I'm a liberal libertarian, but that doesn't mean I view everything in absolutes.
Like the Iraq war, I was against it, that doesn't mean I can see NO good coming from it. You seem to be saying that Obama will either take us down a right path, or a wrong path, and you see no paths that might be simply better or worse, no paths that just might work for the most part.
IMO there IS no correct or incorrect way to handle ANY world situation, just numbers of way to approach things that will work the problem better or worse (excluding madman-like 'final solutions' & such).

BSCM, you are my brother, genetically as well as spiritually...we are all part of this planet, this star system. When peeps start dividing this from that, us from them, hate is possible. And hate makes the casual violence of cutting down families in their sleep possible.

BSCM, you want to hold Obama to a ridiculous standard, as I pointed out in the previous thread when it came up. You say if ONE American is potentially killed by ONE person that was freed by Obama's ordering the closing of Gitmo, that he should resign his presidency immediately.

I say it's a bullshit standard, because you have never ever expressed any such sentiments for Bush. By rights, according to your very own logic, he should have resigned on September 12, 2001. He had just had THREE THOUSAND AMERICANS KILLED on his watch, by actions which he could have, and should have prevented. His failure to act on a National Intelligence Estimate entitled "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside U.S." means that he is directly culpable for the attacks - at least according to the standard you want to hold Obama to.

In addition, Bush would have also had to resign more than FOUR THOUSAND MORE TIMES after the invasion and occupation of Iraq - a move that was NOT intended to "defend and protect" the United States, but was designed as an offensive campaign aimed at toppling a regime just because we didn't like them very much, not because they were a grave threat, an imminent threat, or had WMD. Just ask 'Rappy - he's said repeatedly that Bush NEVER said Saddam was a threat or possessed WMD.

So spare me your righteous indignation at Obama closing Gitmo. If ONE American is killed because ONE *suspect* (they're not terrorists if you can't convict them or even charge them, they're merely SUSPECTS) is freed from Gitmo, then Obama will still be more than seven thousand American deaths below Bush's woeful scorecard.

Since you two bitches ain't gonna fight, *I'LL* bring it!
