So, apparently, even after seven years, President George W. Bush still hasn't learned how to correctly display the American flag. Glorious. We still have to pay him a salary, out of our stimulus packages, apparently.

Keep the Shiny side up

Okay, guys. Let someone take pictures and video of you pretty much 24/7 for eight years and see if they have any trouble coming up with a few (or more than a few) embarrassing frames.

Okay, but I get to be leader of the free world in the bargain, right? And I get the housing, the protection, the health care, and everything that goes with it, okay?

If yes, then I say.... "ACTION!"

In defense of Bush, he at least had it right-side-up...

You don't want to be the #1 guy. The number 2 spot pays better, and there's even less to do. Ask Cheney.

Sure. All you gotta do is win the election. Remember, you'll be under that same 24/7 scrutiny while you're trying to get the job, so don't fool around on your spouse and don't dress like a Muslim.

Sorry to disappoint you folks who think the only correct way to display the American flag is as a doormat, but the president is holding it correctly. His right arm is extended and his left arm is bent. He's holding it straight out, not sideways.

When the flag is displayed in a manner other than by being flown from a staff, it should be displayed flat, whether indoors or out. When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window it should be displayed in the same way, that is with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street. When festoons, rosettes or drapings are desired, bunting of blue, white and red should be used, but never the flag.

No collection of such is quite complete without Ford taking a header down the steps of Air Force One.

That was hilarious, still is.

Geez, most of the really embarrassing stuff was got when Bush was aware he was 'on'. He gave the finger to CAMERAS, not walls.
