Here are some funny clips of the King of Gaffes...Barack Obama.

Here's the latest Obama gaffe. It's about his supporting of giving children breathalyzers:

Obama gets real lost. This one is especially funny... He doesn't have a clue where he's going with this one:

Who can forget his 57 states gaffe:

Really, those are pretty weak. He's not taking the crown from Bush any time soon, and regardless of how much you might not like the man or his party or his principles, you should at least be wise enough to attack him where you guys are strong...

if there is an area where you are.

the 57 states gaff? Sounds like he meant to say 47...(this really is the best one you've got, and I'll give you that he didn't catch that he misspoke, but it's still a lame attempt)

Saying Tim instead of who ever that reporter really was? Getting lost a couple times in town halls, saying breathalizer and realizing it and then, low and behold, using a more appropriate term...

Rivals Bush? Even Mccain? give me a fucking break. You shouldn't be treading in territory where Obama is far superior to the other side's candidates - talking to the people is not their forte, same with representing the people.

Where's McCain's promise to "veto every beer"?

Where's McCain's assertion that the matter of WHEN the troops come home is "not too important"?

the obama gaffes are on par with the vetoing beer gaffe...mistatements taht I'm willing to let slide...he realized he goofed when he said beer.

the "that's not so important line" in context just reinforces his "hundred years" comment from earlier - these aren't gaffes, these are statements about what Mccain thinks about our presence in Iraq -- how he doesn't get the commitment he's talking about demanding from our soldiers,

and how he doesn't get that there's no such thing as being an army at peace without casualties in a region that will never begin to heal its relationship with us while we still occupy it.

That's all you got, and you're crowning him "King of Gaffes"?

Seriously?

I'm sure we could put together only about 14 million such gaffes from Bush. That idiot is the Rosetta Stone of gaffes!

Who can remember such classics as "working hard to put food on your family", "OB/GYNs need to be free to practice their...love", "musta misunderestimated" and countless thousands of others.

My favorite: "Quit talking to me about the Constitution - it's just a goddam piece of paper!"

Now THAT is a gaffe. If you're gonna go down, go down in flames, full-throttle, kamikaze style.

That quote was from 2005, posted on Capitol Hill Blue. As far as I know, it's been debunked as a fabrication.

For what it's worth, here's a link to the original article: http://www.capitolhillblue.com/artman/publish/article_7779.shtml

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the quote's been dismissed as fake. At best it would be hearsay. Kind of surprising that somebody would make up a quote like this; Bush has made so many gaffes that I wouldn't think it necessary to invent more ... must've been a slow news day.

Yeah ... that Capitol Hill Blue piece is what I was referring to - "third-hand nonsense". That is the story that all others lead back to. Total hearsay, at best.

I figured the quote was pure BS.

And, yeahhh, I agree with the sentiment that President Bush certainly has a "way" with english, to put it in the mildest possible terms.

On the other other hand, he seems to do well when he speaks off-the-cuff...

So now I'm a racist for pointing out some of those exact same things about Bush? Gaffes, inexperience, his family name ("I'm NOT a wimp! I'm NOT a wimp!" - and whatever happened to his brother Neil?), his questionable associations (Rove, Cheney, Gonzalez, Dummy Rumsfeld, et al).

Okay, I'll grant you Bush has never once had a well-spoken message, about hope or anything else.

Mike

The Bush Administration was responsible for verifying the WMD info (which they didn't do), but they did not develop the information. You know that, man ... c'mon. No doubt, they should have done ALOT more to check things out ... instead, they just took the ball an ran with it. Now they are reaping the whirlwind on that decision.

Barack Obama isn't that tall ... 6'1" ~ 6'2" ... hell, even this knuckledraggin' conservative has a few inches on him.

He doesn't seem like a bad guy ... it's just the whole "I'm gonna raise taxes on Big Business and Rich Folks" thing that puts me off. If he gets elected and then actually imposes the taxes on business as he proposes, what does he think those businesses will then do? They will just turn around and raise the prices of their goods/services ... which hits Joe Citizen right in the guts. Right? What am I missing?

Hey, it's not his fault. He's been weaned on the radical left-wing cesspool of Chicago Democrat politics since he entered public office. He really doesn't know any better. He and the misses have benefitted greatly from their willingness to cuddle up and play ball with the most vile and corrupt political landscape in America. Let's see...1 Governor in prison, and one on the way to prison....Convicted Felon Rezko deals which the Obama's profitted nicely from, Michelle's nice cushy politically-appointed $250,000 job, going to a church of hate for 20 years, writings of their adoration of Louis Farrakhan...yep...sounds to me like he's a "new" kind of politician all right....the kind the kool-aid network media closes their eyes to every day. The real funny thing is that as Obama moves further & further to the Right ( due to his "new kind of politics" desire to get elected ) he will alienate the far-left lunatic fringe, those that betrayed their once uber-Goddess Hillary, and then went, pan-flutes in hand, prancing over to Obama. By the time the election comes, you won't be able to tell him apart from McCain.

Actually it is a gaffe--yours. Not that you care, but Barack Obama NEVER SAID THAT. It's an urban legend. The quote was originally, and just as falsely, attributed to John McCain. Just because it shows up on some blog or other, doesn't make it true.

And this "church of hate" crap is beneath you, really it is. You've been around long enough to understand why black people might still be a little miffed about their treatment by the government of this country. And some of the most prominant white preachers in the land have expressed the ugliest sentiments. HK...Nice to see an example of how to respond to a post you don't like or agree without name-calling and insults...very nice!
Now...The left wing of the Dem Party did NOT once adore Hillary?
They did NOT blog and broadcast that she & Bill we're racists?
They did NOT throw their money & support to a total unknown, rather than their former idols, the Clintons?
They did NOT rip her a new one when she went on Fox News?
I'm talking 'bout the George Soros money fronts like MoveOn & Daily Kos and others....how am I being clueless on this?

Also, as for that quote...anyone can see it's just a sarcastic shot at Obama. Of course he never made that exact statment...not together at least. But he has said both parts, and when you put them together you get a funny. No big thing; the attacks that will be coming out when the campaigns hit full swing in August-Oct are going to make everything to this point seem like a Ladies Auxilliary Tea Party.

That's the stupidest thing I ever heard. Or read. By that rationale, I could attribute this "quote" to John McCain:

Quote:

"My fellow Americans, I want to surrender to Osama Bin Laden and allow terrorists to control this nation."

Hey, he's said all of those things. Maybe not together, but when you put them together, you get a funny...

Careful there - remember, Obama's steeped in that dirty South Chicago politics. You mess with him, he MIGHT mess back. And as has been pointed out before on this board and many others, of the two of them, only McCain has actually surrendered and denounced his country.

just say No to OREOBAMA.

Actually it is a gaffe--yours. Not that you care, but Barack Obama NEVER SAID THAT. It's an urban legend. The quote was originally, and just as falsely, attributed to John McCain. Just because it shows up on some blog or other, doesn't make it true.

HKCavalier

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Thanks for responding to this nonsense, HKCavalier. I want to point out to everyone who cares that the quote attributed to Obama actually goes:

"My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world.
I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it."

Still open to misinterpretation (for those who like to do so), but far less of a gaffe than the (mis)quote arclight gave.

Having said that, it's very doubtful that it came from Obama. I haven't seen or read anything about where and when Obama was supposed to have made this statement, all I've seen is people say something along the lines of "It's been said that Obama made that statement in a recent speech". That's not evidence, it's hearsay.

Arclight, if he said it, then link the transcript, or if there is none, then date, time and place please.

Secondly, while I've definitely not heard every speech Obama has made (so maybe this is just ignorance on my part), I don't recall him ever starting a sentence with "My friends". I do, however, recall McCain starting every other sentence with "My friends".

Another thing, arclight, what's the deal with "OREOBAMA"? You're moaning about him being black on the outside, white on the inside? Well, leaving aside the fact that he's half white, half black, and was raised by his white mother and white grandparents, what black stereotype do you think he should adhere to? Should he go around talking like Bill Cosby? Or Fat Albert ("Hey hey hey, it's time for change!")? Or should he have punched Hillary in the face and run off with her purse at one of the debates?

Implying Obama's an Oreo is bemoaning the fact that he isn't "more black", because if he were "more black", then the right wing smear campaign could bitch about him being "too black".

Nope, you didn't write the quote, but you did write this about it:

Quote:

Of course he never made that exact statment...not together at least. But he has said both parts

Saying that he said "We live in the greatest country on earth" at one time, and "we can change that" (referring to something else completely) at another time, and then putting them together, completely out of context, and attributing it to a quote by Obama and getting "a funny" is what I was responding to.

And you don't find that kind of statement to be "nastiness"? ;)

Not looking for a fight, Jongsstraw, just want to point something out:

"Church of hate" probably comes form what was played on a loop by the MSM back in April. Here's the quote in context:

And the right can't claim "their" churches are any better, in fact, Wright's "hate" was directed against the government. The pastors on the other side seem to hate everyone that's not part of their congregation. And McCain actively sought Hagee's endorsement, until he eventually figured out that Hagee's such a loon and was causing so much bad press that he wouldn't be able to win over independents with him.

There's some truth to this. Obama's been moving towards the centre recently, something he obviously has to do otherwise he wouldn't have a chance to get elected, and there are indeed some people on the far left who feel "betrayed". I really wonder what those people were expecting, there's no way somebody like Obama could get elected in right-of-centre America without making some concessions.

Hey, Jongs, thanks for accepting my post in the spirit it was written. I don't, honestly, I don't see what people get out of corresponding with folks they don't respect. This board used to be dominated by respectful arguments that taught me a lot about folks I would otherwise never talk to. Nowadays, well, you know...

I gotta tell ya, Jongs, judging from your posts about the honorable Senator from NY, you really haven't been talking to the far left lately. Look, I work in the arts, I live in a defacto commune, they hold their meetin's upstairs--I KNOW the far left intimately. And to them, Hilary and her husband are bought and sold, corrupt pseudo-liberals who will do anything to maintain power. Sure, there are some far lefty women who back Hilary on feminist grounds, but they're the exception, not the rule. The far left that I talk to, if they have any interest in the Republicrats, are all going for Obama on the grounds that he's the only candidate that does not represent the dang Bush/Clinton dynastic power elite. Concentration of power in the hands of the few is a big issue with the far left. That's why Nader appeals to 'em, 'cause he'll sing that song to anyone who'll listen.
Quote:

Now...The left wing of the Dem Party did NOT once adore Hillary?

Pfft! Never!
Quote:

They did NOT blog and broadcast that she & Bill we're racists?

Not the far left. Are you thinking Registered Democrat = far left, here?
Quote:

They did NOT throw their money & support to a total unknown, rather than their former idols, the Clintons?

Hilary and Bill were NEVER idols of the far left to begin with. Clinton ran as a centrist! The left voted him in on the anybody-but-Bush principle.
Quote:

They did NOT rip her a new one when she went on Fox News?

Again, you gotta make a distinction between "the left" and "the far left" don't you? Or is all "left" far?
Quote:

I'm talking 'bout the George Soros money fronts like MoveOn & Daily Kos and others....how am I being clueless on this?
Was Soros a fan of the Clintons at any point? The guy's nothing if not pragmatic, he'll work with anybody if it furthers his agenda, but close up pals with Clinton? Really? And MoveOn is not, y'see, far left at all--they're just left. Maybe you're thinking "far" means "devoted?" A member of the "far left" is someone who is particularly vocal about "leftist" concerns?
Quote:

No big thing; the attacks that will be coming out when the campaigns hit full swing in August-Oct are going to make everything to this point seem like a Ladies Auxilliary Tea Party.

Well, they'll have to be, 'cause ol' McCain ain't gettin' anywhere on the issues, that's for sure! Man, I'm just sorry every time I see him speak these days. Is he on serious meds or what? I'm sorry, but he reminds me of that old cartoon character, Droopy Dog--remember him?
