I am really surprised you would share this site as "fun." It is inane misogynistic crap. I kept waiting for a punchline or some sort of clever satirism, but it never came.

No, feminism isn't perfect. Women's struggle for equal rights isn't perfect. But it ain't this lame-ass, unintelligible rambling either.

Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.

Why? I had a lot of fun reading it.

SIGMANUNKI

I read the site up to the point where they guy/gal said:

post-feminist American women

I actually had to stop myself from laughing which would have woken up my wife. Because the Feminist movement in America (and in Canada increasing) has yet to move into a "post" era. Or at least the general mentality thereof of those that we see on TV, Documentaries, every single one I've spoken to.

I believe that this is caused by two major factors (though there are sure to be more):

1) Women (majority being quite young) read the Feminist literature (effectively) from decades ago and think it still has relevance today, and

2) Thinking that a "strong woman" is effectively a "raging bitch." Probably because the "successful" (business) guy is typically a "raging asshole."

Yes, it is possible to to ignore the Feminist literature and still not be "forced" to be a stereotypical wife from the 50's. There is also nothing wrong with being a stereotypical wife from the 50's should that be the choice one makes.

Yes, it is possible to be (business) successful without being a "mean old (wo)man." And no, it is not good to be a "mean old (wo)man" regardless of profession. And yes, these people can be dealt with in a non-violent way if they are (being) a "mean old (wo)man."

For instance, my wife went to a conference and after a talk someone treated her like a secretary. She just smiled and started talking to him about the talk. He looked embarrassed and discussed with her. Not sure how often this happens, but it can't be much as she's only mentioned it once.

Btw, the wife is from Europe. Just saying that the rest of the western world seems to have moved on into a post-feminist era. Perhaps we should start thinking about doing that too.

At any rate, I'm tired and at least some of you will probably have a lot of flaming to do. So, off I go.

John Lee, conspiracy therapist at Hollywood award-winner History Channel-mocked SNL-spoofed PirateNew.org wooHOO!!!!!!

Gloria Steinam was a CIA change agent, and MS magazine was a CIA front for propaganda. The purpose of "Womens Liberation" was to trick them into abandoning their families and volunteering for the workforce, which doubles the (voluntary) income taxes that must be paid by the family, all of which is pure profit for the private Federal Reserve Bank Corporation, and it gives ownership of the children to the govt head shrinkers. This also leads to higher divorce rates (bigamy) and lower intelligence for children, and destruction of the family financial unit that's been necessary for survival for 1,000s of years. And it made George Bush's homosexual Jewish cousin Hugh Hefner and pimp Rupert Murdoch billionaires. Suckers.

Well, I ain't gonna bother with it, folks wanna be equals, fine - but too may women I have run into are more interested in revenge and payback than equality, and while I can understand and accept that, given that it's aimed at me I won't exactly be supporting it neither.

Nobody is ever 100% equal to everyone else in every little thing, so people should play to the strengths they do have, especially as partners in business or life - for example, Fremgirl can't cook, I mean we're talkin burn water here, so that's my job, most of the domestic stuff is.

But the finances are her ball, I am no good at it, and a discalc to boot, but she can crunch numbers like a machine, and when it comes to diplomacy, you only ask me if you plan to nuke the other side..

I say each to their strengths, no person is wholly self-contained, and people have individual abilities regardless of what chromosone set they're carryin, so what's it matter ?

People get too hung up on this, in my opinion, the only time it matters is when someone maliciously directs it at you - I can see that bein a problem, but it's not beyond solving most of the time.

Everytime folks get involved in that little tug of war though, it just widens the gap - I say let go of the rope and move up and on, who needs the hassle ?

Sorry Fred. I didn't think you were misogynistic. But I was too pissed off at their idiotic rant to think anything other than, "What the hell. How on earth is this fun."

I am not a feminist. I have never and would never call myself a feminist. Like Frem, I think that sort of shit just widens the gap. I prefer to be a humanist--I want equal rights for all humans. (Why focus on only women? Isn't that sexist?)

Having said that, women are discriminated against and spit on enough around the world that I believe in general, feminism has historically done more good than harm.

My own father wanted to give me substandard education because I was just a girl, and what would I use that education for after I got married and had kids? Luckily, my mother fought hard for me to go to the best schools they could afford. I know plenty of girls around the world who aren't that lucky. I have very little tolerance for the kind of misogynistic bullshit represented by this blog. Because it is as funny as a rant supporting incest--too many people suffer from the effects of this sort of attitude for it to be entertaining.

Well, rational feminists want only equal opportunity, which is still severely lacking in a lot of the world.

It matters because chromosomes matter to some people, and reasonable feminism wants it to stop mattering.

Unfortunately, it is still maliciously directed at a good percentage of the planet's population, and it is beyond solving most of the time outside industrialized countries. Look at some of the Islamic countries, for example.

But even in the States, when, for example, will women be allowed to enter combat service?

--------------------------
We reject specific legal, cultural, or religious practices by which women are systematically discriminated against, excluded from political participation and public life, segregated in their daily lives, raped in armed conflict, beaten in their homes, denied equal divorce or inheritance rights, killed for having sex, forced to marry, assaulted for not conforming to gender norms, and sold into forced labor.

"Look at some of the Islamic countries, for example."
Although I support RAWA and believe they mean well...

I think the answer to THAT is the women shooting some of those bastards, it don't take a lotta brains or skill to use an AK-47 and those are rather ubiquitous over there.

If there was ever a time that was a good idea, it's now, when the men are getting slaughtered by each other and either american or turkish armed forces and the women probably outnumber them.

It would be messy, but in the end it's win-win, because even if the women take significant casualties, those assholes will probably be willing to make concessions when there aren't enough to go around and they have to make do with each other and the livestock... neither of which is gonna continue their lineage and family line.

Yes virginia, sometimes justice DOES flow from the barrel of a gun.

If they thought about it, once they schooled those asswipes in respecting both sides of the species.. why stop there ?

Just fucking take over, and I'd lay odds they would do a better job than the nimrods we've been propping up since the 50's, and the assholes they've been deposing and replacing them with.

Believe me, in spite of my anti-intervention views, I'd have NO problem with handing out AK's and boxes of ammo to Afghani and Iraqi women, that's an issue exclusive of states or religions, even if those two things wanna institutionalise it.

For me, I choose not to make it an issue, and I can be a real dick about it when someone else does.

But I think you know the type I've crossed paths with more than once that has caused me to avoid any direct involvement in that whole mess, yes ?

Yep, not just to women, but to all civilians. With training.

Which whole mess is this? (We've touched on so many messes...)

Well, I will avoid naming names, but I have run into a few womens rights activists, and a few dianic wicca - who really, really had a hard case on for men in general, and while I can't really blame em given how much crap they must have taken to get that way... I wasn't gonna volunteer to be their victim, nor support an agenda that seemed more revenge than redemption, it really turned me off backing their play with my own resources to keep running into that problem, you know ?

To me it's just one more of those factors that really don't have any place in the decision making process, no more than color or religion, I don't really care, unless I have a romantic interest, which would get me oh-so-killed by Fremgirl anyway, so... what does it matter, so long as they can do what they wanna do ?

That bein said, while as a 'movement' I just leave it alone, if I catch someone at mistreating, underpaying, or other shenanigans against someone just because of their sex, I can and will act on my own to make them regret it.

It's generally a bad, bad idea to let the lady running your entire warehousing establishment find out she's paid less than the janitor cause she's a girl - especially when you are totally dependant on her to get anything in that mess sorted... oh woe unto them, but they're defunct now anyway, and it serves them right.

-Frem

PS - But what REALLY did them in, was the "Get back in the kitchen" speech by the regional manager... that prehistoric attitude is one reason I laugh every time GM and their subsidaries and suppliers take a beating.
