In other news: Obama in '08! Yeah right. I suspect Hillary is already sharpening the 'long knives'. She doesn't need to kill him...just enough of his momentum to get him out New Hampshire and off the best seller list. Democrats have always been about making sure the blacks know their place and its not the top of the ticket, its voting what they're told to vote and saying what they're told to say and holding the door, serving the food (Howard Dean), and supporting the white lady. I'm just sayin...

"Far be from me to wish anyone ill..." Now this kind of sentence always has a "but" in it. Here it is "But if he dies ..."

The first part is a "but" covering disclaimer. The rest is the real point: " Whooo hooo --- there goes the Democrat majority."

I think the bottom of the barrel is right around here somewhere, if we just scrape a tad more ....

Drug addicts are not people.

OR...

Drugs are already poison and the addicts are poisoning themselves, so our addition of a few new herbs and spices is merely making their voluntary self destruction less drawn out and time consuming.

I would never advocate the poisoning of a Democrat although most of them could use varying degrees of blunt force trauma to the head. I wouldn't wish a stroke on anyone...

You mean the way Democratic governor Casey did the "right thing" and appointed a Republican to replace Republican Senator Heinz when he died? Oh wait. He didn't -- he appointed a Democrat.

After the news about the Senator first broke, there were a number of stories about other Senators in the past and their health problems.

The one thing I took away from the retrospectives is that Senator's are not leaving office unless they die. They may be unable to function, but they're holding on to that office by the skin of their teeth. Probably has something to do with the overdeveloped egos that are pretty much a given at that level of government.

If A Democrat did such a thing, it wouldn't be right either. SO I don't think there's anything hypocritical about my accusation.
Did that action change the balance of power in the Senate?
If everybody used to cheat on an exam, it wasn't right for them to do that, and that certainly is not an excuse for doing it now.
Sooner or later, people have to do what is right, not what is expedient. And what is right is the will of the PEOPLE, not the will of either party.

Yes. Appointing Wofford to replace John Heinz added a Democrat and made for one less Republican. It also a leading cause of the Republican Revolution of 1994 when Rick Santorum, the poster boy for the new "Young Republican" movement took Wofford's seat (despite a HUGE spending gap) and in doing took the Senate.

Was it wrong for Casey to appoint Wofford? No. We live in a Representative Democracy. The Governor was empowered to replace Senators, and is entrusted with that power by the people of the State.

I suppose you'd have a problem with Mr. Smith too.
