Right or wrong. We are in a bad position! Bush is gone soon. It is not the end of a certain ideology(Democracy). America will elect a different American to run itself.... Iran, China, and Venezuela will still hate us.... us!!! Not because of Bush, Clinton, or Reagan. They hate America! Should I even bother?

Here's one: Won't ever happen. We lost this very big war. It's all over. If we attack anywhere else it will be Pakistan, which will also never happen. The US is not getting involve in a war with China. China is on the pentagon's very short list of countries we cannot conceivably win a war against, as is the former soviet union. We're certainly not going to take a position against both of them. I think it was Rupert murdoch who said back in '04 that from a second Bush term you would hear a lot of empty rhetoric against Iran, but see no actual action.

I think if it weren't for a responsibility to Iraq, we should pack up our toys and go home. I think we should abandon Afghanistan as a totally lost cause, which awaits only our concession speech. There's no earthly reason why another American or Afghan should die for a conflict which has already been decided.

i for one, do not want another war with anyone; but i can see plain as daylight the ramp-up of establishment rhetoric, galvanizing the public with this WMD propoganda(again), to support a pre-emptive assualt on Iran(or maybe a joint American Israeli strike); i mean really, we need to wake up and realize that the agenda IS a global UN type government.. so after America has been exhausted as the mechanism to establish this system, they will turn on us. i warn everyone to be aware, the signs in the media warning us of an impending terror attack, and the patronizing about the lack of security are forewarnings of a coming war with Iran; just as 9/11 provided the neccessary political climate for the war on terror and war in Iraq, so too will the next strike (which will be devastating) push the American public over the top into supporting the global government agenda. so you may get your wishes, i hope you have considered the full ramifications though of your idealogy.

Tongue in cheek I hope. I do come down on the side of preemption though. If I thought Iran was a threat I would be all for it, I just don't see it, so i guess economic sanctions are what we should focus on. I have read in other posts about the Middle East being the match that sets off a third world war, I think not. My concern is with China and S. Korea.

Sanctions are not only ineffective, they're cruel. Look at what happened with the '93-'97 campaign in Iraq. Iran is not only no threat, but we will do nothing about them. We can't. This is way out of our league presently. Iran is a Germany, with twice the population of pre-wwii non-jewish germany. Plus, they have pakistan china and russia as allies. This is a holy hell of a bad idea. We got our ass kicked in Afghanistan. We're getting our ass kicked in Iraq, what makes us think...?

Our president is twice the moron it takes to do something like this, and dick cheney is not genius, but I don't think the people in our military are *that* dumb.

i dont believe the American public could objectively reach a consensus and choose to pre-emptively attack Iran as it is.. which is why i fear the next terrorist attack(real or orchestrated) that is being threatened down our necks. the current anti-islamic bigotry being fueled by the neo-cons would then be inflamed and fostered to attack Iran and go full swing into the global war on terror until it escalates into ww3. that is my prediction, but i hope im wrong

This is a distinct possibility. But I don't think that this is likely. The US knows it can't win a war with Iran without the backing of Pakistan. Bush has right now gone to meet with Musharraf to discuss the situation. If he can patch things up, maybe they'll continue. If not, I think this war is over. Pack up our toys and go home.
