Jesus Camp looks like an interesting documentary. Here's a link to the movie trailer:

There are two kinds of people in the world - people who love Jesus, and people who don't.

Keep the Shiny side up

Is there any way we could get these folks and the radical Islamists together in one place and let 'em fight it out for the glory of God(s)? Maybe in Jerusalem, since it's holy to both faiths, and we could let the Zionists play as well. I'd be willing to chip in the cost of a couple of plane tickets (one way, or course).

I'll donate a couple cases of Wolf 7.62x39mm to the cause... man that ammo is craptastic, at least it'd be put to good use!

Thanks for the link. I hope the movie does bring awareness to just how dedicated and huge the evangelical movement is. For the last 2 decades at least, they have become increasingly well organized and politically savvy. They want a theocracy, and they are not going to stop until they get it.

And unless we start taking them very very seriously, they ARE going to get it.

Now there's an idea!

Coming soon.... GODBOWL 2007 !

I recently saw something about indoctrinating muslim and jewish children. The Muslim children learn about the glory of fighting to stop the evil march of israel by blowing themselves up with a dogma-military training combo. The jewish children at camp signed their names on bombs that would be sent to kill arab children.

I like the godbowl idea. It can be a three way sport. Each team gets to pick their way through a minefield, don't worry, god will show them the way. Or pick up the pieces.

The three goals are the holiest part of Jerusalem for them, which has been converted into a giant stadium.

The ball itself is a bomb, and if you're left holding it when it the buzzer goes, then you get into the kingdom of heaven.

Millions of fans can watch and throw grenades from the sidelines which are sold like popcorn. Then the less fanatical than the jihadists/crusaders/zionists can get about their lives without having to deal with all this cr@p.

Good point, CTTS. They want a theocracy - and they'll be stepping over my dead body to get it.

Separating religion and politics is wrong because God is the one who chooses our rulers.

That almost sounds like a rant against democracy.

People don't chose their leaders, God does.

Not to get off topic, but I've often thought that pure Christianity is a lot like pure communism, where they believe that everyone is born with a plan, a special purpose. Christians are to serve each other and become one body (of Christ).

Communism and democracy aren't mutually exclusive, I can't think of a reason why you can't have a communist democracy. You can't have a democratic theocracy though.

ANTIMASON

its kind of diceptive to say that "God chooses our rulers". in the OT, God tried to deny the Jews a king, because power always corrupts. because it is said throughout scripture that "our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities and principalities"; Government was a punishment to the Jews, since they lacked the faith to live in harmony with God. now, many today would say "you get what you deserve", and that is more appropriate...i would say America deserves who we elect, because we tolerate and often fail to recognize their slimy corrupt morals and politics. but make no mistake, the message is clear that the world is against God; which includes the institutions presently at work decieving and subjugating the populace

True, big huge difference between Christian and Fundie Christian.

But don't underestimate Fundies just because they look nuts. Fundie Christians are growing both in number and in power.

Enough to give Labour a thin majority. Which is why Blair is prime minister obviously.

Not really. A bunch of people in Sedgefield chose tony blair, and a % of people in a % of districts chose labor, which is about 60% of 60% of those who voted. Blair manipulated the system to get himself into office. If it were open ballot rounds, and anyone could be elected, it probably wouldn't have been Tony. Even of MPs it wouldn't have been Blair.

At least, that what my british friends tell me.

Okay you don't seem to understand the British parliamentary governmental system. Blair isn't a president; people don't vote for Blair, they vote for his party, Labour.

Well this proves my point 60% of the vote went to Labour (I think it was less than that but it's irrelevant so I won't bother looking it up). I.e. the majority of the vote went to Labour, they won the election. Democracy in action, that's how it works Dream, the party that gets the most votes wins. Maybe your confused because that’s not how it works in the US, I don’t know.

What by getting more votes than everyone else? That's how democracy is supposed to work.
Quote:

Firstly in this country we don't have a president, no one voted for Tony Blair, they voted for the Labour party. Secondly we don't run a two party system over here; anyone CAN run for election, the government is formed of those who are voted into office. Take a look at a general election; the people running for office in any particular county will range from Tory/Labour/Lib Dem to Monster Raving Loony party.

Any one can be elected. All they have to do is run for election.

In this country we vote for parties, not people. The parties vote for who they want to put forward as the spokesman/figurehead of the party, if the party gains a majority in the house of commons that person becomes the Prime Minister.

We don't have a president here.
