That was the topic of the thread, and I was answering. Didn't know it was a bait for another round of kick the dreamtrove.

Rue, because they are shortsighted. They're always in each other's business about things that don't really affect them, or they're off on they're own worrying about the next meal, or the next quarter's profits. They focus inward so that stupid things become so important they are all consuming, but they really aren't that important, and things outside their tiny focus don't seem to matter to them at all, because they are so focused on some minutia.

Sometimes it doesn't pay to spend your resources trying to do the impossible. It's best to quietly hole' up. And it helps with winnowing out the truly important things in life.

I remember being a young teenage girl in a log cabin. Don't know what to make of that, age-wise.

I blanked out once while fully awake. The last thing I remember was happiness, sunlight in blue sky and large white wings fluttering upwards. I have NO idea what that means.

I had to look it up. My own shortened version of it doesn't give it justice: But really, "The question is not 'Why does does it have to happen in my lifetime,' but, 'What to do with the time we have left?'"

Oh dear me. I heard that quote in the movie and it meant something to me to.

In my darkest hour I tend to think about the living in a card board box and begging for change on a cold street somewhere ALONE with nothing and no one. But that only last till my Mum calls and then I realize that I will never be alone I have family and they will always be there to help me and take care of me when I can not.

But to other matters and back to the quote. This world is crazy and we all just have our own things and opinions. It may not be the greatest times and there may be a ton of stuff going on but maybe that is what they thought during the, The Great Depression, WWII, the 60's and Vietnam (Sp) or what ever. I think that Tolken quote says a lot to that effect. This may be the end of times (My Mum thinks so) but I am sure that others have thought the same thing. You can not live for the end you just have to live for today, tommorow, next week, next year....whenever. I think a lot about that quote and it is funny that I encountered it in the context it was used in.

LIMINALOSITY

I worry that evil always wins in the end. Not because good people do nothing, rather because we mistake evil for good, and evil stops at nothing to be king of the hill, even if the hill is reduced to a smoldering heap of poison slag in the process. We are so easily distracted by the next experience, the latest thing, the most trivial thought, that we throw away chances to be much more.

...then I notice that the frogs are awake again, and the ducks are back at the pond, gossiping over cocktails of pond water with worm garnish, and I know that my earlier thoughts can't be true.

TAYEATRA

Ok, so I know I have dark thoughts but I've been doing a lot better with that recently.
One in particular that stands out was back in year 12 (That's 16ish) and I remember perfectly clearly standing at the top of the stairs during class. It was frighteningly quiet I and just recall thinking, "I can't do this" and all I wanted to do was let go. Heart, body, soul I just wanted to let go and fall. I don't know how long I stood there but then the bell went and I walked on by.
That was pretty dark but what really got to me is that it was horrifically selfish.

Dark Angel, Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Enterprise, Farscape... anything else you'd like to cancel?
