I'm still in the flippant mood, hopefully I'll get back to the forums proper soon.

So, any way, is he really Darth Bush?

Well if he is I’m taking a scoutship in to the Unknown Regions on a one-way trip. I think the Ssi-Ruuk or Chiss might have better governments worthy of my citizenship. Anyone want to come with?

Emperor Cheney:
Have the trust and ties been broken between the nations of this world?

Darth Bush:
*breathes* Yes, my master.

Emperor Cheney:
Good! Then we will replace it now with fear. Fear will keep the locals in line; fear of this battle-nation.

Darth Bush:
*breathes* Don't be too proud of this technological terror-

Emperor Cheney:
Shut up.

Darth Bush:
Yes, my master.

I just had to join in...

Darth Bush: What is it General?

General Rumsfeld: The administration has moved out of lightspeed, commscan has detected a liberal field protecting half the population. The field is strong enough to criticize any policy.

Darth Bush: The democrats are alerted to our presence. Admiral Ascroft let out too much information.

General Rumsfeld: He… he… felt reprisal was wiser…

Darth Bush: He’s as clumsy as he is stupid. General prepare your troops for another attack.

General Rumsfeld: Yes my lord…

Admiral Ascroft: Ahh Lord Bush the Administration has moved out of… gaggg... gahhhh

Darth Bush: You have failed me for the last time Admiral, Captain Gonzales make ready to land your troops beyond the liberal field and deploy the fleet so that no more embarrassments get out…

Admiral Ascroft: GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH… >thud<

Darth Bush: …you are in command now Admiral Gonzales.

Admiral Gonzales: Yes Lord Bush!

America loves a winner!

I remember what Robin Williams once poked fun at Ronald Reagan. When the President said he wanted to make America " what it once was " , Williams added.." a frozen waste land. " Haa haa, funny. But what Reagan actually did was bring America OUT of the frozen waste land of double digit inflation and into the land of prosperity, ended the cold war and restored faith in a nation which was lost.

It's easy to make fun of those at the top.

The other day, in frustration, my six year old yelled, "Daddy, you're not LISTENING to me!"
He was right, and I had to appologize. See, sometimes we at the top need to be corrected as we lose track of what the people at the bottom are saying.

And the Cold War ending? So what? Now we have Al-Queda, and if they run out of steam it will be something else. We are defined by our enimies; we NEED them.

... and it just keeps getting easier ;)

Reagan had a good team. In part. Reagan himself was a neocon stooge, the first neocon stooge, the original accept no substitutions, but the reagan admin did okay because it had a good decent team.

And I don't mean the team evil that got him in office and kept pushing him into wars, I mean the good old GOP. There were the rummies and cheneys, sure, but there were other people to balance out their egghead pighead ideas and keep them in check.

I remember when I was a kid and the other kids used to say "Gerald Ford can't walk down the street and chew bubblegum at the same time." That was really lame. I recognized it as lame then.

Reagan had alzheimers, and he was already becoming out of it as president. They had to prop his mouth open and make it move. That was pickable.

Bush Sr. made a lot of talking goofs, they were mild fodder. Clinton opened fire on American , and he dropped his pants every time he saw a female. That was funny.

Bush is a chimpanzee who couldn't shave in the morning if Condi didn't help him. I remember reading that she was tutoring him in '99 for prep for his presidential campaign, he'd already been governor of Texas, and she had to explain to him (and I am not making this up) that Africa was not a country. That's the sort of thing Chris might have to tudor his six year old on. Bush is ludicrous, he deserves a lot more ridicule than I just gave him.

PS. I hope everyone got the Backstroke of the West references :)

Yep. You confused me with the fact that FFF usually attracts intelligent and independent-minded folk. You're intelligent. So where's the independent-mindedness?

See, I live in a world where my country is capable of making mistakes. As great as she can be, her sheer size also allows room for corruption, as in any big business. Some administrations have hidden agendas.
You live on Fantasy Island, where all is well, and if that's where you need to live, then don't let facts detract from that. It takes courage to get away from fear-based belief systems. Not all of us can summon up enough to 'unplug'.

TRAINEEALTERNATE

Just think of him as a kid growing up in a fantasy 1950's TV show, only with 50 years of life under the belt. Very simple, fairly straightforward, deceptive when he wants to be.

Everyone's daddy has a mommy, and vice versa. No hyphenated last names or anything unChristian like that. God lives in the church, and everyone goes there, and prays. Everyone's daddy owns a gun, in case the Commies attack us tonight. Noone has two of the same. Everyone comes to backyard BBQ's (except for idots who like tofu).

All of his friends get to be in his club House (even the girls) and get to make big decisions, regardless of their intelligence or responsibility. If he gets to be chairman of the clubhouse, it is because he says so, and because the clubhouse judge likes him, not because the others voted. If his daddy's friends didn't let him beat up the neighborhood bully, he will later, and say whatever he needs to to justify himself. He tries to help everyone that bully beat up, but doesn't know how. If someone down the block hurts his friends, he looks for him and tries to beat him up. If a big storm comes up and knocks down his playhouse, he can always have one of his friend's little brothers come back tomorrow and fix it. If another kid doesn't think God helped dinosaurs evolve, and doesn't come to Sunday school, then he doesn't get to be in the club. He doesn't like anyone calling him bad names, or criticizing his actions- if they do, he calls them disloyal. When he gets his allowance, the other kids tell him to save it for the clubhouse fund (or a few tell him to give it to the poor kids); he gives it back to his friends who gave very little anyway, he saves the rest, and uses it when he feels like it.

Only problem is, this ain't a neighborhood clubhouse. This is the United States of America.

He doesn't get to go after the neighborhood bully and make up reasons for it. No matter how much he tries, invading a country won't fix it. He can't just invade a country because the guy you're looking for lives there. The big storm that knocks down the playhouse has millions of people living and dying in it, and they can't wait for tomorrow, or for one of your friends to come and fix it while he worries about his fashion statement. Those kids who don't come to Sunday school are probably just smarter than he is, and are using their heads more than their hearts (There is a time and place for both). Criticizing the chairman of the clubhouse for going to war is more patriotic than cheering him for it. His allowance is from the people of the United States- he can't just throw it where he wants, or give it back to rich friends.

This explanation may be a little simplistic and extreme, but it does explain a lot of what he does.

"That's why I never kiss them on the mouth."
"When do I get to get sexed up?!"
"This is my most favorite-est gun..."
