BOOMERGOODHEART

Hello, Browncoats!

Hubby and I attended Dragon*Con over the weekend and....wow. This was my first Con ever, so I was just floored. Attended all the Serenity panels (a 4 hour wait each day!). Also met Ron, Jewel & Morena at The Walk of Fame (we didn't go down until after Adam had to leave on Sunday. :-( ) They were all very gracious and nice. Got pictues of them and with them. LOL...the picture of myself & Jewel has us both flipping the bird! It's a long involved story about her and Nathan doing it to each other in the most creative way. LOL, she was kind enough to do it for us, as well. She's a riot.

I'm still in shock...may be just the kick in the pants to pick up Kaylee again (if you don't have one already)! CANNOT wait for Sept. 30th to get here...

America loves a winner!

Congrats on making your 1st DC! What a way to get introduced! ( This was my 2nd Con ) I was lucky enough to be part of her big flip off to Nathan. I'm guessing she got the last laugh w/ that one.

Oh yeah, Nathan hasn't been able to top that one.

It was my first D*C, too. Wasn't it fantastic?

I still haven't recovered.

HELL'S KITTEN

First Time Dragon*Con-er here, too. I even brought my first Firefly convert with me. She and I loved every second of it. I enjoyed seeing so many fellow fans, and wish I could have met more of you, but hey... I'm anti-social-girl. I could probably ramble on about the entire 5 days we spent there, but who wants to read that tripe? I'm really just posting to say this:

TO THE SEBC group who hosted the Shindig Friday night - thank you guys so much. I had the best time there and I really don't think I can thank you enough. After everything that's been going on ... personally ... I really needed this kind of fun, and you guys delivered in spades. (I think I'm actually now a fan of the SEBCs. Heh.)

We went to the Shindig, too, and I guess it was a good time......

There's just something wrong with a Firefly Rave, which is what I perceived it as being. They didn't even play the theme!

We left early and went to bed (waiting an hour and a half for 8 oz. of soda that cost $2.25 or some such was a deterrant, too).

Other than that, we had a great time!

Stupid DJ didn't know Firefly, or cared to. For some reason, I doubt Guns N Roses are still played in the 26th. century...

MAL: If anyone gets nosy, just, you know... shoot 'em.
ZOE: Shoot 'em?
MAL: Politely.

Hmm... Lemme think... Do I want our original Kaylee to come back and take over playing our little slice o' sunshine? *smacks forehead* Duh! Of course I do! RL got in my way for a bit, and I actually hadn't posted for Kaylee in a while, so this works out well. When last we saw her, she was headed from the bridge to the galley...

I campaigned for them to line up the Bedlam Bards to play the theme song, the Hero of Canton, and a whole slew of Firefly-inspired songs, but the con management would hear nothing of it. I handed a recording of "The Ballad of Joss" to the person in charge, with the suggestion that they spin it last, after all the rave music was done. I left before the end, so I don't know if they did; I know that her reaction was almost violent when I made the suggestion.

Still, I suspect the fact that it was a huge successful party means that our chances of getting something that feels more Firefly and less Matrix are fairly slim.

We could always try again next year. If we keep telling them what we want, maybe we'll eventually get it. Persistance.

Well, I don't mean to whinge about the party--of course, it wasn't what I wanted, 'cuz I wanted to play music. But it really was a very good party, and I think the people who did it worked really hard to put on a great event. I think it accomplished the goal of attracting a lot of attention to our cause.

My first Dragon Con as well

The whole experience was amazing

meeting so many like minded people is always a joy...similar to the Renn Faire experience (including the funny costumes)

You still up for picking Kaylee back up? 'Cause we could use a good engineering explanation for something that sounds like a gunshot but isn't much more'n a noise...

I have no idea what to say. When I played Kaylee, I just guessed at the engineering stuff! Machines are not my friends.

The beauty of it is that this is fiction - you can write whatever you want.

Not that I'm trying to recruit you either...
