For those out there who have Neverwinter Nights and would like to see how the Firefly NWN system works (you've certainly heard me drone on about it before :), there's a one-shot game running on 5/23, and they need players. The system uses the Traveller T20 rules, translated to NWN; we've been running weekly campaigns for over half a year, and it's a LOT of fun. The DM/gamemaster of this one-shot is one of the stars of the Neverwinter DM community - I'd highly recommend his game. The game is being organized on Neverwinter Connections - the location is:

aygame/id/19272.htm

If you're not familiar with what we've done to play tabletop-style Firefly RPG's in Neverwinter Nights, here's a screenshot (also located in the Blue Sun Room):

The main system can be downloaded at:

You can also discuss the system at our Yahoo group:

For the record, this all started as a guerilla marketing campaign for Firefly, back in the no-movie days, and it's certainly succeeded in converting a lot of people from the NWN community to Firefly. I'd love it if someone else would be interested in DMing their OWN campaigns - it's a great way to introduce people to the 'Verse!

Apologies, but I'm going to bump this. The game's coming up in two days, and they still need players! Don't worry, I won't bump it again :)

Do you realize how hard it's going to be to get my copy of NWN back from my soon-to-be-ex-roommate?

He's out of town enjoying the Victoria Day weekend (it's a Canadian thang - the May TWO-FOUR), else I'd jump on it right away.

I'll have to clear so much space on my drive...;)

Well, then I have some good news :)

One of MY regular players is DMing/refereeing (the term 'DM' doesn't make much sense for a Traveller/Firefly game) a game of his own on 5/28. Here's the link to that game:

I played a Shepherd briefly in one of his games, and he was a fine DM - good player in my game, too.

So people know - if you want to join one of these games, you'll need to join Neverwinter Connections - you just need a username so you can post and such.

Also, the Firefly NWN system DOES require owning NWN, but JUST the basic Original NWN (unless DM's have modified the game), which costs next to nothing these days - and there are PC, Mac, AND Linux versions. There's also about 150 MB of downloads, cut into bite-size chunks, to get the extra Firefly-type content.
