HOMESPUN

Those of us who write admit that we thrive on feedback and comments. I'd like to nominate some Feedback All-Stars who take the time to feed that writerly need.

First on my list would be Katesfriend, who always thinks about the story, the characters, and the implications of what the author has said or left unsaid when she leaves her wonderfully insightful comments.

I'd also nominate AMDOBELL because she always comments, as does Hoperules, Leiasky, mal4prez, whose comments are as excellent as her fics, and HeWhoKicksAlot, who was always very supportive before he became HeWhoDisappearedIntoRealLife.

I make this post because I know I tend to be pretty bad at commenting, so I really appreciate those who do.

Who are your All-Stars?

MAL4PREZ

Good idea Homespun! Although - you oughta take me off that list LOL! I'm sooo bad at leaving feedback. Not that I'm reading every fic posted and not saying anything - I actually read very little these days. But I'm just such a critical reader and don't want to hurt feelings, so I generally find it best to keep my mouth shut. (Fingers away from keyboard? Whatever.)

My feedback heroes? BEB (BlueEyedBrigadier), though he's been away lately, astounds me in his ability to find both nice and constructive things to say about any and all fics. Now that's a talent. Homespun and Jane0904 too - just about any fic I randomly open will have a comment from these three.

For my own fics - those already mentioned, plus Leiasky, EmpireX, Desertgirl, Platonist, AgentRouka, Nosadseven, miswhatsis, nbz, Katesfriend, LadySage, Asarian ... who am I forgetting? Sorry if I am! These folks tend to say more than - "Hey, that was fun, thanks!" They put thought into their feedback and that's wonderful.

There's also a big ole bunch whose feedback encouraged me when I first was posting, though they don't seem to be around much anymore. Eloisa, LEEH, RiverismyGoddess, Tamsibling, ManicGiraffe, Burnandboil, Bookaddict, Kaynara, LeighKohl... I know there were more...

My goodness, I feel like I'm giving an Oscar's speech. How annoying! I just don't want to forget anyone - fic feedback is like little jewels of pure *happy* I can take out and marvel over whenever I need a boost. (Channel a teary Sally Field here: "You like me, you really like me!" )

Stopping now. Unless I remember anyone else...

LEIASKY

Nice thread, Homespun!

I don't read a whole lot anymore and write feedback for the stuff I've read even less than that.

I'm probably just too picky. I just don't bother to write any feedback anymore unless I can find some good in something that I've taken the time to read. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen a lot anymore.

BlueEyedBrigadier is an amazing commenter as he manages to find something good in even the most painful drek in the BSR. I have to give him props for that. I couldn't do it.

Mal4Prez is a great person whose comments are frequently lengthy and offer some good criticism - provided you're writing a story that engages her interest. I think she's pickier than I am!

There are many others who used to comment and either no longer do or have moved onto other fandoms. I won't mention them here.
