What do people around here regard as the best fanfic in the BSR? I have been reading a fairly large amount but I just cant decide. Or maybe this is simply a request for what fellow Browncoats around here regard as their favorite fic so i can read some more because this site is just better than many published sf-stories.

Agreed. Mal4Prez is an excellent writer. ScrewtheAlliance is good as well.

When you're logged in, go to 'my firefly' and at the end you will see your log in name, just erase that and put in the names above, and you'll get to their pages.

Everyone has their own favorites, and you'll probably get a lot of varying responses. The two above write very good general fic without real HEAVY dedication to pairings.

If you're interested in reading about pairings, which ones? I'm sure we can direct you to a lot of great authors.

From those not writing atm: Tzegha, GuildSister, TaraLJC and Roseveare (She is not in the BSR...).

From the newer/current lot, I would say Mal4Prez followed by Wytchcroft, Jetflair, SpaceANJL and NauticalGal.

One thing you may notice about these authors is that for them all the story is king - romance etc is all secondary to a good story.

If you want long "serial" fics add badkarma00 to the worth reading list. He has like three different fics going at once over at FF.net and they're all different plot lines, pairings, and with different developed OCs!

He's got to hold some kind of comment record over there.

Not yet mentioned are homespun, browncoat 2x2, terimaru, kacidilla, maystone, hawkmoth, jazzfic, anna sedai, hereswith, jedibuttercup, leeh, agent rouka, spaceangl, kaynara, just off the top of my head. I have many more recorded elsewhere. There are many, many more wonderful writers here than you would ever know. This verse seems to attract more talent all the time.

Jettflair is my gal! Awesome backstories! And I love the way NCB writes Mal's mother....some good fics as well.

Mal4prez is definitely great stuff, and I like Wytchcroft's quirkyness.

For something away from the main characters, SoulofSerenity, castironjack, Needy, are some good stories too.

I know there are others I've read and commented on that I've missed. I've got a great memory but it's really REALLY short, so my appologies to those I've liked but failed to mention.
