Am I, possibly, posting this in the wrong place?

Probably.
But it settles with my point, which is-

I'm new!

Hello!

Okay, I'm Jill. And truth be told, I didn't watch Firefly ever, until Blackpool. I came for Emma Caulfield (and made her cry), and while I was at it, well, Jewel Staite liked my (pink) shoes and melted my heart. And Summer and her and Nathan, well, they talked about Firefly and the movie in the guest talks, so I couldn't take it anymore, and I got the DVD.

AND I'M FRIGGIN IN LOVE!
Or should I say gorram.

Oh, my Joss, it is absolutely amazing. I'm all Kaylee and Simon shippering and drooling over Nathan (who hugged me. Twice!) and going all "ooh ahh awww" whenever I see Jewel (also when I see my shoes) who is just the sweetest thing that ever did walk on this earth. And I can't believe I met them! And the show is amazing. It really does get under your skin. So I need to share the love!

Happy to be here?

Welcome, Jill!
What's most important is that you found the right place to post, this place.
We all have our own stories about how we fell for Firefly, but I must admit yours is the first I've heard where someone found the show by meeting the actors first!!
Again, welcome!

Welcome, welcome Jill! You've got just about the neatest how-I-got-into-Firefly story I've ever heard. Glad to have you!

I have no idea how you post a picture directly onto a thread, or even if you can.

I posted mine in the Blue Sun Room. You just click on Add Image which is in the other options menu to the left of the Blue Sun Room screen. It is all pretty self explanatory. I then let people know they were there by posting the links on a thread.

It's a bit long winded so, if anyone else knows a quicker way please let me know.

Welcome, to the family! There is a way to post pictures into these messages which involves using HTML - sorry I'm not sure of the tech details. Look forward to seeing them any way you can make it work.

Welcome!

I was interested in this a little while back and looked at what was in the "reply with quote". It seems as though you just put the image up somewhere on the net and then put the url to the pic in your reply and the site will take care of the rest.

If that doesn't work you could add it with HTML like so (delete the space between the "<" and the "img"):

< img src= http://where/your/pic/is/pic.jpeg>

Thank you, everyone! I am working on it. I'm a little, erm, slow, with internet and its types. D'ho!

Perhaps I should erase my face. I don't, um, look too good near Jewel "I'm gorgeous" Staite (and Emma "thud" Caulfield)...

Take me, sir, take me hard.

Welcome Jill...

That was a very shiny story. I'm jealous I don't mind sayin'. Anyway, don your browncoat and join the fun.

Jill, you made Emma cry?!? Welcome, but if Emma quits acting to become a nun, or dies of a broken heart, we will know who caused it and we will be quite cross.

Seriously, glad you caught the Firefly fixation. Do you think the cast's appearance made any other converts among the Buffy faithful?

ROFL! Well, I doubt she'll die of a broken heart. And if she does, eeep on me, I killed one of the nicest people in the world. Oopsie! Nah, Emma just means... a lot to me. A lot a lot. I'm not a fan girl type person, but with her it's insane. Buffy landed into my life in a time that was incredibly difficult. And I found myself in Anya. Not in the being afraids of bunnies way, just in saying that the show- and especially Emma on it- gave me answers that I needed. Clicked with my soul, at the time. And, well, seeing as how Film and television are my biggest passion, I shouldn't be surprised that it was what picked me up. And the people who create it. Namely, Emma. I told her this- in a more dramatic fashion, mind you, as I was crying myself- and she cried with me. And she was amazing.

...

Would I say there were other converts? I think definitely. Mainly I was so shocked to see how many people really do care about Firefly, regardless of the buffyverse, which I think is just amazing. It was lovely seeing Jewel and Summer and Nathan getting asked questions about the show and such, and whatever DVDs they had were sold out so quickly, I had to get mine in an HMV when I returned to London. So Firefly definitely had lots of power there, and I think a lot of people became fans, obviously, if they got the DVD, as it never did reach Europe. It was encouraging and I an thrilled about that.

Take me, sir, take me hard.
