You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Time for a new addition to the ongoing saga of Browncoat purdyness!
If you're so inclined, post a picture of yourself so we can all see who we talk to here

How to post images here: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=5&t=29479
(Short version: Image must be hosted somewhere on the internet and all you need is the URL. Photobucket, imageshack, and flickr are your friends. See above-linked thread for further details, or click 'reply with quote' to see how others have done it.)
Also, PLEASE NOTE: the tutorial thread is an excellent resource and we don't want it to get overloaded and weighed down. Please test your image posts in one of the many 'test' threads scattered over the board, particularly out of the way in troll country, or start your own to help keep the tutorial nice and easy to load.

Most recent picture thread: http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.asp?b=11&t=29358

Here is me with my pretty new toys:

Now post you!
Or you can, y'know, just talk about other people's too...

(Thanks Steamer!!!)

Aloe is your friend. My prefered treatment for sunburn is chilled aloe juice. It feels sooooo good when it's all cold and it soaks in easily. And you can soak a little towel in it and lay it over your back.

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies!

Yes, Aloe is my friend. Unfortuantely I'm at work today, so I get little chance to apply to my back, but my face is getting it in spades. It absorbs so fast, you'd think it was rubbing alcohol in direct sunlight...lol

I may end up going home early today though. I would've called-in, but had some major work that needed to be done today. I'm feeling dehydrated, and that's never a good thing. Drinking gallons of water though, so I'm sure I'll pull through.

I suffered from heat exhaustion once while in boot camp. Ever since I've kinda had troubles with prolonged sun exposure. Of course, my mom would say it's the fair-skinned Irish in me, but until boot camp, I've never suffered so bad.

My biggest problem is that I never gauge my time in the sun right, and always forget the sunblock. One would think I've learned by now.

There you have it. The Irish should never be trained how to fight: just wind 'em up and let 'em go!

I never expect to be outside as long as I end up being. I don't need no stinkin'--what did you call it again?--sunblock, I'm just going to do this one thing...

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

Okay, been awhile since anyone posted pictures...

These have a story to them. It might seem an odd story, but I've felt the urge to share it lately, and plus without it the grainy pictures will not make any sense...

This is my Memory Skirt. When I got it, it seemed boring, so I added some patches of bright thread to it. As I did so, it occured to me to attempt some rough embroidery, and so I did; symbols of people who meant something to me. It wasn't the best embroidery ever, but it worked, and I had a lot of fun with it.
So, many of the people who were symbols on my skirt kinda ditched out on me. I surrounded what I had for them in blood red and didn't wear the skirt anymore. I didn't think of it for a few years, until someone else who had a symbol left me, and two people who deserved a symbol came into my life. When one of them also left me, I stopped working on it again. I didn't think of it for another year, until very recently. I've been updating it again, because so many Browncoats are important to me, and should be represented on it. I've had trouble coming up with something for everyone, but I'm working on it.
Some of the things on it are random, but most mean something. I know, you can't really see details in the pics. Sorry about that. But there it is, and that's my story.

That is like one of the coolest f**king things I've ever heard! Not the leaving part but the embroidering symbols part. You continue to amaze.

Yeah, I use a hoop now. When I first started I didn't, but it does make it easier. Although, I had issues with one of my recent designs, because I couldn't tell in the hoop which way it would end up facing on the skirt... Well, it was sideways, and I ended up cutting it off and patching it back on. Ended up being a lot more work than I expected. And yeah, I twist up my stitches to get curves. I think that one is just cotton thread, though; the flash makes it look much shinier than it really is

Well last week (or was it 2 weeks ago?) there was the virus that attacked the site that my virus software got..... (Big problem) unfortunately I do not have rights to remove that incident from the logs on my laptop so I had to play all incognito and hope that they did not notice it.

That and we have been super-busy here at the office with everyone getting summer fever and taking time off I have been working to pick up that slack they left behind

I have been so burned out that I have wanted nothing to do with a computer when Iget home so I have popped into MySpaz a couple of times but not for long (still waiting on your next response BTW!)

Oh and I almost forgot. It has been plenty warm here recently so I have been snorkeling alot after work.

So I guess I have been hiding under a huge, Petoskey Stone.

Mags called me last night and we chatted so i stopped by to brag today and hopefully it will be slow enough for me to catch up on all I have missed, but for some reason I seem to be stuck on your pic post!
