It's that time of year when even the most crude are at least somewhat pleasant.

Alright. So I'm watching TV and trying very hard to not feel utterly depressed. A task that I'm just not drinking fast enough to accomplish. And since there is basically nothing on friday nights I'm watching 1 vs 100. Normally when I watch quiz type game type TV type shows I get a certain amount of pleasure out of the fact that I am smarter than the average person. With this particular show that feeling has very little pleasure because they seem to have found the dumbest people on the earth to put on their show.

They asked a very very simple money math question and like 8 people managed to get it wrong. 10 nickles is 50 freaking cents. Even Hooters waitresses should know that without working it out on the pad.

I weep for humanity.

ok, time for a christmas carol.

Unfortunetly i only know one. You've probably already heard it.... ah well *adopts pretty singing voice* *actually probably sound more like a donkey being circumcised*

Good King Wenceslas looked outside,
Saw that it was raining,
Couldn't find his welly boots,
Spent an hour complaining,
Someone here has nicked my boots,
I can't find my wellies,
Nevermind i'll stay indoors and see whats on the te...

eeeehh....

leeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

ok, new one from my mum

We three Kings of Orient are,
One in a bike and one in a car,
One in a scooter picking his hooter,
Following yonder star.

Theres also

Kookaburra sits on electric wires,
Jumping up and down with his bum on fire,
Ouch! Kookaburra, ouch kookaburra,
Painful that must be...

but thats not very christmassy.

Fix all the spelling you want. For once I wasn't making fun of a typo but commenting on the week long rain we've had in my neck of the forest. 50 rutting degrees in the middle of december. It's a shame.

Edit: And now I fixed the misspelling in my quote so they match now.

Holiday type stuff doesn't really start for me untill tommorow. Then it's a double feature of holiday classics (White Christmas followed by It's A Wonderfull Life) at the Music Box theater then off to dad's pad for the remainder of the elongated weekend.

this is the most mild winter I've yet seen here in western NY (hmm, sounds like I'm repeating myself from last year). i'm not complaining, though ;D

i don't really do much holiday stuff, go over to my parents' house for christmas eve, just bum around.

-edit- one tradition my family has (my parents and i) is to watch Scrooged and Christmas Vacation. That's about as far as tradition extends with us.

Snow.

There I said it again. What are you going to do about it tough guy.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

Dashing through the snow
On a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobbed tails ring
Making spirits rise
Oh what fun to laugh and sing
A sleighing song tonight

SNOW!

i'll still take the 40s and 50s with some rain over piles and piles of snow and single digit temperatures. I'm the kind of guy that will take the cold over the heat, but the snow is such a pain to deal with.

it all right, as badly as your lot deal with snow, can't be half as inept as the english - i meant, we've been getting snow for... how many years now? Several millenia? And cars.... we know about cars.

But we still haven't learned to reconcile one with the other.

But then seeing as most people in this area can't even work their legs in snow i'm just not going to expect miracles.

Then theres the fact that we're one of the wettest countrys on the planets, but year after year, we're surprised by droughts on summer and floods in autumn.

I was my hands of them i really do.

So christmas eve - and i'm watching Spike Jonz torture a cat on a Bjork video.

Seasonal.

I have to go hoover, see thee all soon!

Sadly there was no snow. No rain either though so that was nice. Maybe possibly snow for New Year's Eve which isn't quite as festive. Unless your idea of holiday fun is dodging sliding cars driven by sloppy drunks.

Freezing rain, that's something that always confounds the folk here. Can't drive in unusual weather, most of 'em. Sorry to hear you are ill. Hope you get well soon. Chicken Noodle soup and crackers, and a box of tissue by the bed. Also, hot showers help with me. Work bites @$$.

Okay so that crappy Arnold movie "end of days" in on sci-fi. I love Gabriel Byrne. He's great... but the movie in general.....
He so should've been "thinking outside the box" for other solutions.

I think the last part of this quote, used in "seperated out", applies to Browncoats.

from cult 1930's Tod Browning film "Freaks"

"We didn't lie to you, folks. We told you we had living, breathing, monstrosities. You'll laugh at them, shudder at them, and yet, but for the accident of birth, you might be even as they are. They did not ask to be brought into the world, but into the world they came. Their code is a law unto themselves. Offend one, and you offend them all!"

I used the line you just used in a mailing list a few months back. I got a number of responses from people who thought I was serious. I explained that I was engaging in self deprecating humor and I think they were disapointed that they wouldn't get to raise my self esteem.
