I thought I would start a new one.

Calling all Browncoat Singles...a place for us to hopefully meet other Browncoat singles!

So having read all the way through the long thread, I get to the end of it and find I could have just posted here. No matter, at least I found out some interesting things about people, and it lead me to a few quizzes, one of which brought up the folowing result:

You are Dr. Simon Tam (Ship Medic)
Dr. Simon Tam (Ship Medic) 80%
Kaylee Frye (Ship Mechanic) 60%
Jayne Cobb (Mercenary) 60%
Wash (Ship Pilot) 60%
Malcolm Reynolds (Captain) 55%
River (Stowaway) 55%
Zoe Washburne (Second-in-command) 45%
Derrial Book (Shepherd) 45%
Alliance 45%
A Reaver (Cannibal) 35%
Inara Serra (Companion) 10%
Medicine and physical healing are your game,
but wooing women isn't a strong suit.

Anyway, I've avoided read/posting to the singles thread until now because I tend to be a bit iffy about such things, but here I am anyway.

Let's see, I'm a 24 year old South Australian, which puts me out of travelling range for most people on here. I'm a member of my local Country Fire Service Brigade (we do more than just fight fires, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_Country_Fire_Service for more details). I'm also uni student, doing a BA (International Studies).

In terms of physical descriptions, I'm tall (185ish cm), thin (75kg/160ish lb) and having shortish and sometimes curly dark brown hair that is sadly receding already. No facial hair, although I used to have a mustache (that plus the vanishing hairline meant I was mistaken by a number of people as being in my late 30s/early 40s!)

My interests include a lot of sci-fi, including Firefly/Serenity, Stargate SG-1/Atlantis and Dr Who, but I could never really bring myself to like Battlestar Galactica or Star Trek. I also like reading novels (I'm a fast reader, record being the entire Lord of the Rings books in one sitting, from 6pm to 5am, but this was before I had my own computer and access to the net or any decent games).

That's probably enough about me for now, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

I should probably give my details over again, shouldn't I? Not everyone will read all those other threads.
I'm 21, female, living in Northern Colorado. According to quizes (and friends) I'm a nice blend of Zoe and Inara. I'm just looking for a 20-26 year old Wash who loves to cuddle and will call me bao-bei.

I do not play games.

I will also accept applications from women-folk. I do lean slightly more towards men-folk, though.

Give me a shout here, or in private message if you prefer. If I like you, I might give you my e-mail addy

As for the photobicket, it's much more impressive than mine, which is mostly World of Warcraft screenshots I've hosted for the sake of posting on forums.

Possibly Haken finds it easier on the servers not to have to host inboxes here as well. And don't forget he writes his own code; it can't be the simplest thing in the world to set something like that up. Not that I'm an expert.
World of Warcraft, huh? I'm not sure it could ever work then.
Seriously, though. Ex of Doom was a WoWer, and I could literally stand around naked tapping my foot without getting his attention when he was playing that damn game.

Ah, to be able to afford traveling anywhere I wanted...

You're probably right. I don't know where I would want to go. I don't mind Wisconsin so much myself, but then again, I did live in Illinois, or as I like to call it, "Lucifer's Ahole". I guess it probably just keeps getting better the further away from Illinois you travel.

I don't give a damn about football, or sports in general, but I do find it enjoyable to remind everyone here at work about how much their Packers suck.

I grew up in GB about half a mile from the stadium. The Packers suck this year (Brett Favre really needs to retire), but guess what! They have the best fan base ever!!!!

Amusing tidbits: My middle school was Vincent T. Lombardi Middle School. School was cancelled when they won the Super Bowl in 1997. Last year churches changed the times of Christmas Eve services so that people could go to church AND watch the game.

God love the Packers. And Packer Trash.

Hell yeah we got out of school for that. Good Morning America came to my middle school as well that year. When they lost the super bowl the next year, I guess it was still an acceptable excuse to skip class to go to the parade, though it wasn't a city-wide cancellation. I was briefly living in FL at that time.

I have dial-up and am still addicted to youtube. You just have to give it about half an hour to load and then you can watch!

Anyone ever hear of the Mile High Salute? One of the only bits of sports tivia that ever had any kind of impact on me through a combination of my dad being a huge Bronco fan, and the DJs at my favorite radio station being likewise. Someone did a rap song for the 'Mile High Salute' (a few Bronco players would salute when they scored) and it got played. It wasn't bad, actually. Pretty catchy. If memory serves, they won the Super Bowl that year. Or maybe that happened later.

I shouldn't even know that much about football. Eurgh! Must geek out somehow now!

Oh good, I have my copy of the Serenity novel with me...

For the really big files (software patches, powerpoint stuff for uni), I'll go into uni and download it there, or if it's too big to burn to disc (or needs to be downloaded directly onto the computer), I'll lug my case around to a friend's place and use his ADSL2 connection.

It's the tower, and yeah, even though I get there by car, it's still annoying enough that it's not done too often.

If you find yourself getting too worked up about stuff that isn't real (RP Threads etc), then go outside, breathe in some fresh air and try feeding the ducks. (Because ducks don't care about your politics, religion, skin colour, choice of music or even your haircut. They like everyone, provided you bring them food.)

You're such a tool. Sometimes I can't believe we're related. Then Iremember what a geek I am and it all comes into focus.

SASSALICIOUS

The wireless card I bought for my desktop wasn't picking up a good signal in my room (the nexus of the universe), so I was planning on returning it. I finally got around to taking it out this morning (3.5 weeks later) because I couldn't be bothered to unplug my computer and crack open my tower AGAIN. Even though it's really easy and only took me 5 minutes to do.

Wow, I'm lazy

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

That's funny; I'm eating dried pinapple and mango! And papaya. Yum.

SASSALICIOUS

I love fruit. I've kind of been almost living on it for the past few weeks. This afternoon I had a baked ginger grapefruit. Mmmmm. Though I am particularly fond of this salsa because I made it myself.

SABRI3L

Well i'm still single, in Easton Pennsylvania. All I really want is a nice intelligent guy in my age range. Looks do not matter, emotional baggage does not matter, income doesn't matter. I just want someone to care for me as I do for them. I know I'm not the prettiest, I don't dress promiscuiously, and I can be very shy. If anyone is interested please let me know.

(I know I sound needy in this message, its something about tonight that makes me melancholy)
