You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I'm so very sorry, vinter dear. That is not shiny.
What happened to the other thread? The one that wasn't so long?
I am way too tired right now.

If you rest up, maybe you could get something started on it tomorrow.

I want to tell you that I loved the pic that you put up on the BigDamnThankYou site. I like the one with you in your Browncoat!

Aaaah, Zepheniah, sorry to hear that you missed the 'Versary celebration. *Big Hug* The major part of the 'Versary was to spread the word. You might have missed the Shindig, but you can still help spread the 'Verse to your friends. There will always be more Shindigs.

Have you checked out the other thread? There were a few people chatting on there this weekend.
http://fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=11&t=24223
It might cheer you up.

COMICGIRL

Haven't been on for a while, the real world interrupted - Gorramnit!

Anyway. I thought I'd add another little single to the mix.

I'm 32, single, Scottish (so I'm thinking in a minority here) My friends tell me that I have a problem with silence, but I can be funny, friendly, and always able to smile even when I'm in a bad mood.

I love things like reading, watching movies, talking, shopping and more talking. My romantic history can be summed up by this. The first guy I asked out was gay but I was the only one who couldn't see it! (I guess the torch I was carrying was blinding me!)

I don't care what you believe in, just believe in it.

TDBROWN

Hi... just thought I'd drop in and admit to my singleness.

I'm Tim, and I live in Bloomington, Indiana. If my screen name looks familiar, it's because I started the Anniversary Job movement and gave a boost to the Big Damned Thank You folks (several of whom are on my crew at Serenitymovie.org, the Slightly Irregular Browncoats). For an immature Browncoat, I've got a few years on me. I'm 52, and it shocks me every time I think of that. I act younger than a lot of folks I know in their late 20s and early 30s!

I became a Browncoat in a strange and sad way. In 2005, my marriage came to an end. My now-ex asked for a Divorce in May, but we didn't file until October. September 30th was supposed to be our 10th Wedding Anniversary. She never came home from work that day, choosing to go to a friend's house. So there I was; my Anniversary, and in my house all alone.

I decided to go see a Movie.

Instead, I found Serenity. And through Serenity, I rediscovered my sense of family, and I now HAVE a family. A family made up of thousands of people who share the same Love and passion that I do: The Love of the Serenifly 'Verse.

There is still an empty spot in my life, though. I freely admit that I've been married *cough* Three times . Each time, I hoped to find True Love and raise a family. Twice I was a Step-dad, and really enjoyed it. My step-children still keep in contact, though gradually less as time goes by. This is as it should be I suppose, 'though I still get called "Dad" when they do call . I have no children of my own, darn it, and I suppose it's late in the game. I DO adore kids, though, so I'm open to all possibilities!

I own my own home, 3 bedrooms, two empty. I live about 2 miles outside of Bloomington, which is a very pretty College Town. I've held a job at GE, building Refrigerators, for 18 years now. I have a BA in Anthropology from Indiana University, and I also write songs, especially lyrics. I dabble in fossil collecting, am a former Museum Curator, and occasionally go on caving expeditions, exploring local caves and sinkholes.
Specialization is for insects lol.

I've enjoyed reading this thread, and look forward to reading a lot more TD/Tim

Tim,
I remember you from the pic you uploaded onto the BigDamnThankYou site. I think you had 2, but I really loved the cute little puppy in the hammock with "I'll be in my bunk." It was adorable!

What a sad story that brought you to the 'Verse, but thank goodness you found your way to the Browncoat community. I love the "Serenifly 'Verse," too. I actually saw Firefly originally in 2002, but I had no idea that there were others that loved it as much as I did. I never knew that the Browncoats were fighting a battle until Serenity came out. It was fulfilling to find out that there are others that are just as obsessed as I am.

My longest obsession is learning about the Mayan civilization. It started when I was in the 4th grade. In my late 20s, I traveled through Mexico by train and bus to visit the ruins at Merida. It was a fantastic experience. Have you traveled to any anthropology sites?

Welcome, Comicgirl, I don't think we have any one else from Scottland, but you never know when someone might show up.

I made a web site to introduce my friends to the 'Verse.

I figure I might as well join the singles crowd here. I am 19 (male) I live where? hmm, take your pick, in the last year: California, Montana, Illinois, Virginia, Philidelphia, and China. I move a lot, a bad habit I guess.

Haven't been a browncoat forever but long enough I guess. It would be cool to find a girl that was just as into the 'verse as I was.

I may type more later.

Thank you for the warm welcome. VerseExplorer

I have been to many Sites, both before and after getting my degree. I was raised in a College environment, so the interest in Historical and Cultural Sites was "genetic" lol.

As a kid, we went on Vacations out west a LOT.I saw everything from Ancient Indian Sites to The Little Bighorn Battlefield.

When I was in the Navy, I saw Spanish, British and Danish Forts in the Caribbean. While on a Medditerranean Deployment, I saw Rome, Athens, Pompeii, Istanbul, Carthage, and Jerusalem.

During my College years, I went to quite a few Indian sites here in the MidWest; Cahokia (Illinois), Angel Mounds (Indiana) Serpent Mound, Fort Ancient, and Mound City (all in Ohio).

My Museum work was at two Historic Homes in Ohio, for less than two years. It has been a while since I've been able to satisfy my passion for such things, but 2 years ago My Step-Mom took us all on a Caribbean Cruise, and I finally got to do what I've always wanted to do, and which you can relate to:

I toured Mayan Sites . Kohunlich is a very isolated site, and ours was the 15th group of tourists that had ever been there! At Cozumel, I got to see Tulum, a site I was familiar with from my Studies.

So yes, I've been very fortunate in my life to have done these things. I hope no one thinks I've been bragging; I just really have done all this. The reward has been experience and knowlege. That's something all Humans should strive for, IMO. Just wish I had someone to DO it with lol! TD/Tim

we have a whole 'nother thread that we're meant to be posting in due to the size of this one. Although we could probably get away with starting a third.

If you find yourself getting too worked up about stuff that isn't real (RP Threads etc), then go outside, breathe in some fresh air and try feeding the ducks. (Because ducks don't care about your politics, religion, skin colour, choice of music or even your haircut. They like everyone, provided you bring them food.)
