Yep, sometimes we can make it two days, sometimes even three, but we burn through 'em pretty quick. Especially as several of us are on dial-up (I am at home anyway) so the acceptable length kept getting shorter for those on dial-up who didn't have all kinds of time (like me).

'Morning, DTH! Sounds like you've had an eventful day. I've just read my Official Companion and tried to keep it clear of the mango juice

This is the first FORSAKEN thread I have been able to get to after returning from DragonCon, due to work at both jobs and continuing the recovery process (there are still things I have not unpacked, does that seem right to you?)

I am here at work, and I have no idea what time of day most of you are on, though it seems like it mostly goes on at night (well, night where I am). I normally don't get on in the afternoons/evenings due to two little boys that demand a lot of my time (and I wouldn't change that for anything in the 'verse).

I am rambling, I know, and I will attribute it to the lack of food (though I do have some instant cheese grits beside me waiting to be made). I didn't meet a whole lot of people at DragonCon, at least not a whole lot of FFF.net people, which I do regret.

Here's to another long and eventful FORSAKEN thread, may the fire burn with the heat of a thousand suns.

Though I have only read American Gods and Good Omens (a Pratchett/Gaiman link, see, I can be topical) and some of the Sandman collection, I really like what I have seen of Neil Gaiman. I also have a few Pratchett books (my brother thought I should get into them) that I haven't read yet due to lack of time.

To answer your question, yes.

Mavourneen, it's a little after 9:00AM here, I have been at my desk for a little over an hour, and am on my second mug. My mug is one of those travel cups you get at convenience stores, though...I don't start drinking coffee until I get into work. Does that count?

Actually, Mavourneen, you are preaching to the choir here. I go through an average of three pots of coffe a day; two at work and often one at home. I have an industrial coffee pot at home, grind my own beans, and make my own blends. I can taste the difference between most types of beans and can identify several types by smell (Hawaiian Kona, Jamaican Blue, and most of the brands you can buy at your local store). I don't make coffee at home in the morning, because I am only there long enough to shower and get dressed. I have converted my coworkers to coffee fiends, and we have our own beans and grinder here, too. I am doing my work to spread the good word of coffee amongst everyone I meet. If you cut me, I bleed brown.

PD whoohoo!! Uncle time! I love being an Aunt so enjoy...now rush right out and buy a medium sized toy box to keep at your house and begin filling it. Also you now need juice, baby wipes, baby spoons, bibs, applesauce, baby cookies, and a small portable crib and stroller....that way you can easily kidnap the baby for playtime and have all the needed items:)

Sigh no cup of coffee for me...overslept this morning and didn't have time and there is no coffee in schools. ( by the way it's almost 9 am here)

YAY, PD! You be a good uncle; spoil that boy rotten!

I kicked my coffee habit before it got out of hand. Then I had a Bawls habit for awhile, and I've managed to get off that (which was even more heavily caffinated than coffee) and now I have an Odwalla and Naked Juice shake habit. Much healthier.
Also, I probably can't ever drink coffee again because I seem to have developed mild lactose intolerance, and I can't drink coffee without loads of cream! Though I have made an exception to that rule for cappucinos made by a cute boy... *ahem* But I haven't been able to finish those.
I do love the hot liquid, though. Tea is good. Though a lot of that is only good with cream, too Fruit teas are still good. Mmmmmm, I should go make some tea...

oh no it's not that coffee isn't allowed, it's that ( due to health for kids issues) no coffee vending machines and there are so few teachers who drink it there isn't a coffee machine in the school. So if you don't have time to stop on the way or brew it at home, there's no coffee...and even though we're Utah, we're Starbucks infested just like the rest of you:)

Hell with the drinking liquid that has caffeine in it, at D*C I was just taking it pure. Then again, that might have been because I needed to offset the effects of the alcohol.

Never got into the coffee myownself, I prefer a cold Mountain Dew Code Red any day.

*sigh* Only 2 more hours until I can go home and get ready to go to my second job.

Wow slow day today in the firey land of the Forsaken.

MSG - What you should do is buy yourself a single cup coffee maker and make your own coffee. Maybe you can convert the non-coffee drinkers. Then when you get them good and hooked bring out the BDS and BDM. Just tell them "hey my coffee idea was good so check this out." The next thing you know the entire school staff are coming in in Jane hats!
