So, do we have any Browncoats here that are musicians on the side? What instrument do you play? What gear? Are you in any bands? What do you play?

Me, I've been a guitarist for 7 years now. I play a Gibson SG Standard through an Orange Rocker 30 combo amp. I was in hard rock bands in high school and have been in several during college as well, including a pop-rock band and a Rage Against the Machine cover band.

Anyone else?

I have been playing guitar for about 20 years, I think.

My favorite guitar is a 1979 Les Paul Custom, and I play through a Marshall Stack. I also have three other guitars.

Mostly play metal/rock, and classical. Strange combo, I know, but I listen to mostly metal, and I like the technicallity of classical.

I play mostly with some friends who also mess around on guitar, drums, and the like. If we could only find someone to play bass!

Acoustic guitar. Very badly. I can bang out a few ballads. By the way - Irish ballads? Very, very depressing. Really.

I actually just started to learn acoustic guitar!
I'm at the point where I pretty much can change swiftly between the easy chords (the standard ones, A,C,D,E,F,G and some other ones), wich means I can (kind of) play the Ballad of Serenity, wich is really cool! And some other songs I can play as well of course. But still very much learning! :-)
I'm learning on, well, a crap guitar, and I'm thinking of buying a more expensive one. (think between 400 and 450 dollars), but really have no clue wich guitar to buy. Any recommendations? :-)

How do I delete a comment that was posted twice by accident? (I'm not sure how it happened -- I only clicked the button once.)

Ummm... heres the thing, I have a guitar, piano, violin, Irish flute, and a tin whistle. I can't play a one. I can make them all make noise... sort of... mostly I collect them for when my friends come for a visit. They all play at least one of them! Oh the shindigs we have!

Orcblaster, look into an Epiphone acoustic. Not sure of the exact price but they're a really good quality guitar for what you pay for them.

I think singing counts!

Let's see. I play flute. I was actually a Music Performance Major for 2 years. I also have a collection of flutes: recorders, tin whistles, a crystal flute, etc.

I play guitar. I have a baby Taylor accoustic and an Alvarez electric. I was in a band in college, but now I lead a youth praise band at my church, which is a lot of fun.

I also sing, both classically and not so much. I have sang in professional choirs in the past, but right now I'm just working with my little praise band.

Oh, and I play handbells. I love it, it's so much fun.

And that's me!

yeah, i was a drummer in rocks bands back in the day... now i play acoustic guitars just to entertain myself mostly... right now i've got a couple of Taylors - a 714 six string, a 355 12 string, also a Guild 6 string and an old D-45 Gibson.... and a couple of Dobros... an old square neck and a round neck that is a lot of fun if you like bottle neck slide....

my younger brother picked up the drums a few years ago and i still keep in practice on his Pearls... he also has steel drums that are very nice to play....

Singing totally counts. As far as me, I'm a guitarist. been playing for about five years, but I randomly take time off, but I can't shake the instrument. I'm in a rock band, been around for about three years. Since I'm poor, I just have a regular ol' Fender Strat, that my dad bought for me years ago, and some other handy music makers. Not profecient, though.
