TRISTAN

I am sure that this kind of thread has been posted before, but being a relative newbie to FFF, I have decided to start a new one.

Call it a virtual "Meet and greet" of your fellow Browncoats. Basically, where are you located, what do you do, and how did you discover Firefly? This would also be a good thread for other newbies to find out all about the shiny people here. If you don't feel like leaving any info, don't. You can leave as much or as little as you like. I know all of us have "names" here, so we may just want to stick with those rather than use our real ones (I prefer to think of my name here as my real one, anyway )Moderator, if this is an invalid topic, please delete and let me know, so I may apologize profusely.

I guess I'll start.

Hi, my name is Tristan, and I am a Browncoat.
I am an insurance agent in-training in Anniston, Alabama.
The movie Serenity was my introduction to Firefly, and after getting hold of the DVD's, I realized I was, in fact, a Browncoat.

Holding until you get back , Captain.

Drat! I double-posted! I have no idea how I did that! I am sorry.
Is there anyway to get rid of one of these?

Holding until you get back , Captain.

PHOENIXROSE

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

*Welcomes Tristan to the boards*

OK, well, my name is Rose and I live in Colorado. Northern Colorado, far from the hub of Browncoat activity in the state, which makes me sad.
I answer phones for a living and I hate it. That's all I'm gonna say about it.
Serenity (the movie) was my introduction to the 'verse. My, uh, then-boyfriend was a litte more up on current events than I was (I haven't had a TV with any kind of reception for several years) and he knew that the movie was based on a show. So after I saw the movie a few times I bought the show. Then the movie. Then books. Then I came here and bought more books because people talked about them. Now I half live here and I've watched the series through more times than most normal people would consider healthy.
That went longer than I expected. This is fun! Who's next?

*************************************************
One day.
One mission.
One legion of Browncoats.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave.

NUCLEARDAY

Looks like I'm a couple days late welcoming you Tristan, but welcome just the same :) (Not that I've been around here for more than a few months, either )

Name: well, nuclearday works just fine. My real name ain't as interesting. (And it's pronounced NewClearDay if it matters to anyone :)

Occupation: Running the night crew at the local grocery store pays my bills. Hope one day to actually do something useful with my BFA, though :P

Discovery: Saw a couple eps when Firefly was on Fox, then blocked the painful memory of it's cancellation out of my mind. Rented the DVD on a whim, and well... the rest is history. Ain't never looked back, not with a such a shiny bunch of 'Coats around here.

SIMONB

Hi there,

My name is Simon and I've been a Browncoat ever since a good friend of mine told me I had to watch FIREFLY when I said that I'd seen the trailer for the new 'Serenity' film and thought it looked interesting. Got hooked right away.

I come from just outside Bristol in the UK, and presently I work for the National Health Service, though I do a lot of evening classes and hope one day to go off to University as a mature student and do a shiny degree in either Egyptology or Archaeology. Not sure if it'll ever happen, but I'm gonna try and we all gotta have dreams...

"I don't care, I'm still free - you can't take the sky from me..."

- Shiny. Let's be bad guys.

That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die

PERSEPHONE736

Hello,
My name is Rachel and I am currently a student at a local college here in Virginia. I live in quite a small town in the Shenandoah Valley if any of you are familiar with the area. I first watched Serenity last January and then saw an episode of Firefly on SciFi. I went out and got the show on DVD cause I needed more and have been hooked ever since. I didn't join this website until about a month ago, but am quite glad I did. I really had no idea there were so many devoted fans out there!

NCBROWNCOAT

I'm a divorced Mom with a 16 year old daughter and my other "child" is my 71 year old Mom. I've really learned what the sandwich generation is.

My daughter wanted to see Serenity-we both absolutley loved it, ordered the BDS and became an instant Browncoat.

I live in the beautiful small town of Washington, NC (the Orignial Washington BTW c.1776 pop at about 10,000)in the eastern part of NC on the beautiful Pamlico River about 30 miles upstream from the Pamlico Sound and the Outer Banks (about 1.5 hours by road) and 25 miles east of Greenville, NC (home of East Carolina University, pop. about 75,000 and growing every day) and 2 hours east of Raleigh, NC so I'm a bit out on the Rim.

I'm an Administrative Assistant/Loan Processor in the Main Branch of a 26 branch community bank. It's an odd thing to do with an UNC American Studies degree but I like it.

I do a bit of everything from answering phones, pushing paper, determining where customers need to go for their problems etc. I work with great people and I enjoy it.

One day.
One plan.
One army of Browncoats.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave.

VINTERDRAKEN

Im called Vinterdraken online (most of the time atleast). Im a "student" that lives in Örebro Sweden and I have grand deluded dreams of one day becoming a director.

Was bored one night and borrowed the movie Serenity from a pal. Watched the series more or less in a marathon after that, then I watched the movie again and the whole series once more (and the movie aswell). After that I knew I was a browncoat.

You can’t stop the Signal.
Keep spreading the word about Firefly!

REDLAVA

My name is Brad I am in Iowa City, Iowa. I am currently unemployed after I was layed off from the warehouse I was working in moved to Massachusets. I knew I was a Browncoat since the first episode aired. After it was canceled, I deserted ranks cause I thought the war was long done. Then volunteered again on this website when I heard about the BDM.
