ARCLIGHT

When I first read GELASSENHEIT's idea of "Greycoats" I thought that it was a great idea. Am reconsidering. I think such a title could become devisive. Could put a wedge of sorts between us and the base. I am a Browncoat. I will always be a Browncoat. And as a Browncoat I hold. I hold until Joss tells me to stack arms. The fact that I am 48 years old does not change the color of my coat, just the color of my hair. Our age changes but the color of our coats does not. We are all Browncoats.
All that being typed I do think we, on the down slope, should establish and distinguish ourselves somehow with a name of our own and a badge to acknowledge it. But I do not think Greycoats is it.
With such we, the over the hill people, can welcome the newly aged members into what will be our ever increaseing numbers.
So "Greycoats" I vote no.

RiveR6213 is having some sort of personal crisis
today. See thread "Oh God, I Want to Destroy Everyone."
Cyber-sympathy may or may not help. Meantime
she's apparently posting random unhappiness all

Yeah I see your point too. Instead of Greycoat
Division maybe Silverback Squad? Is silverback ok?

RESE

Wait for me! You know how long it usually takes us womenfolk to "put on our face", well at the advanced age of 53 (in July) it takes me a wee bit longer, provided I can remember where I put it! Gee, guess that makes me the matriarch of this happy, little ship (at least for now). So, please don't leave without me! I have new stories to share! My Browncoat is not old, it's just broken in and comfy -- doesn't squeak anymore. Well, at least the coat doesn't squeak anymore . . .

I'm hopelessly devoted to all things Firefly and Serenity. I shop! I buy all things devoted to same. Buffy, Angel, too. I'm helping the Whedon's put their kids through college!

My husband asked, "Are you ever going to stop crying when you watch this movie?" Guess I never will. As I said, I'm hopelessly devoted! Let's just hope that he never finds out about being in Jayne's bunk -- I can still dream, can't I?

Thank you, mphillips, for starting this thread. I'd be lurking forever if not for you. Consider yourself hugged! (Now, if someone could just show the old lady how to use these cute little emoticons . . . )

Hey, Rese, we're so glad you quit lurking and joined us.

Glad you already have a 'coat.

You can either type in the : + the word between or copy and paste it in the post where you want it to use the emoticons. I copy and paste, it's easier.

You can also get a cool pic by your name, say of Jayne by going up to the top to the place where it says MyFirefly and going to edit profile and adding an icon from the bottom right.

I'm a Mal gal myself, but I got a certain appreciation for Jayne.

Hey Channain!

Haven't seen you around these parts in a long while. I've been a member of this board since Februay '03. I think you were here first. I lurked for a few weeks and joined the board just after the cancellation. It was very theraputeic, kind of like joining the team at the bar after losing a playoff game.

I remember a few names: Succatash, Sarahecht, Drakon, Archer, Johnny Reb, Ginobiffarino. Used to have a lot of discussions about Western's and the Civil War back then.

It's kind of fun to see new people still coming to the board and starting up "new threads" that we ran through two or three years ago.

Not bald. Not gray anymore.
I'd have been too old for active duty 500 years from
now so it's not likely I could ever be in the 57th.
Maybe something with fewer syllables? There's times

I'll break 40 in August, so not quite there, yet. But, I'm also glad to know that I'm not the only one here out of my twenties. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but now I know we have the full range of the demographic!

I've been fan of a few things over the years, or I thought I was. But, now I know it was just a shadow of what fanaticism can be. In a good way, of course. We have to get this show back into production!
