aw cheers JH.

Good point about the loosing of breakfasts Mal!

*wonders if it were possible to capture the 'dzzy amble' with out actually filming the upchucking*

Deathslides! you have like a platform with scaffolding at either end with a rope strung between them, and then this little wheely/pulley thing with a rope or even a seat haning from it, you grab the rope and slide from one platform to the other.
The best ones are when one platform is higher than the other, cause that means you don't get stuck in the middle when your momentum runs out, and the guy supervising doesn't have to come and get you and pull you along to the platrom by the rope.

The army uses them I think, and i've seen then strung accross ravines (of course, the people using them are wearing safety harnesses, the term 'deathslide' isn't a challenge)

But they are very fun, very whizzy, and very cool

Us crazy Canucks call stick buns, cinnamon rolls. If you aren't near a bakery, try Pillsburys Grands.

Not as good as bakery fresh, but still tasty enough.

*doesn't like sticky buns or cinnamon rolls*

Though you did forget to discribe the best part. I used to work at a bakery that made them. At the bottom of the pan you make a schmear with cinnamon and brownsugar and whatnot, then you add the dough that you've rolled up with cinnamon and then sliced into swirly rounds. So when it's all baked up, you invert the rolls and the schmear is all goey on top. It's lovely. Even if I don't like to eat them, they're pretty and nice to look at. And VERY messy.

Some people eat them with a white icing and I think that's even worse than the schmear.

we do get them here, though they are all doused in white icing and I have to admit I haven't seen any bakery's round here selling them. (there are very few real bakery's left in this area, they're all chains selling the same stuff as all the others)

I shall have to go look see, though I'm getting more and more excited about september, and not just for con-type reasons.

For those of you going to a con for the first time I strongly reccomend the sight below, it will make your experience even better.

http://www.locksley.com/neofans/

Don't worry Seryn you should be able to find sticky cinnamon buns in Georgia. They won't be made with the authenticity of the northern states. The buns are a comfort food that when consumed with a cup of coffee or cocoa on a cold winters morning instantly makes you feel warmer. Georgia being a lower latitude city can only get so cold.

Seryn I don't mean to give you a hard time, but Eurpeans often have difficulty grasping the literal scale of the USA and Canada. The distances are enormous. A friend of mine was hosting a cousin of his from West Germany, back before they torn down the Berlin wall. His cousin wanted to see the Grand Canyon in Arizona and Washington DC and New York City and Yellowstone park and Disneyland. My friend and I live in southern California. So my friend tells his cousin yes to Disneyland and maybe to the Grand Canyon and everything else he needs to get back on a plane for. So they wind up driving to the Grand Canyon, a all day drive. They stay there a couple of days and drive back. On the way back the cousin asks if he can drive my friend says sure I'll take a nap, just wake me before we get to this critical turn in the road. My friend wakes up two hours later ask his cousin if he made the turn and just didn't wake him. The cousin says yes don't worry everything is fine. My friend is uneasy, but plays along. A hour later my friend realizes that his cousin never made the turn, when he notices on a road sign that they are not in Arizona or California, but Utah. The cousin was used to the mentallity of a small country where if you get lost in Germany and drive far enough you will either find a ocean to the north, a border to the south, or a Russian soldier to the east. The USA is like that it just goes on and on.

I only like bing cherries.

Can't stand those canned marachinos. Why do they ruin perfectly good cherries by dying them uber-red and dousing them in syrup?

Though I do like shirley temples for some reason. I always order one when I go to Olive Garden. No idea why. And I haven't been to an Olive Garden since I moved to SC.

Now I want a shirely temple!! And some breadsticks.
