The crew of the Grant all look upward simultaneously as they hear a loud

CLANG

There is a moment of silence before the noises start. The crew of the Grant reacts as one, drawing a wildly varying assortment of weapons.

The noises grow to a roar of shrieks, screams and growls.

Safe scans the chambers lower level. “PR, River-clone, seems you two have…talents. Do you think you’d be able to find us a way out of here?”

Safe is interrupted by a drawn out scream from above. The crew looks up to see a body, fall flailing from an upper level. As it’s about to hit the floor, the forest scene flickers into view again. The body drops into the scene. The scene flickers again and is gone…so is the body.

Safe mutters to himself “interesting…”

SOULOFSERENITY

The Man They Call Soul...

The shrieks having dissapeared, the foursome walks through the forest uneasily. Only Static seems sure of himself as he strides ahead of them. Eventually, the thick trees give way to a small clearing, and the tower can still be seen riding high over the treetops. Static pauses, and they all draw to a stop.

"What is is?" Soul asks.

Static shakes his head. "I'm not sure."

Then the sky above them opens up, and a cacophony of inhuman screams erupts into the still clearing. Soul swings his bow skyward just in time to catch a glimpse of what appears to be a jail cells, along with a few faces he recognizes--

--And then a bloody body appears from the sky and drives Soul to the ground, just as the screams dissapear...

Serenity: "There's got to be another way!"

*The others continue along the same vein, but he ignores them, looking into River's eyes.*

"It's the only way," says the River-clone, a tear trembling in her eye. "Do it. Please."

*Before anyone can stop him, he ignites his lightsaber, and in a blur of motion, strikes. The River-clone falls, slowly, almost as if she's dancing.*
