Hey, just thought people might be interested in finding out a bit about the Halloween 2004 London event. Amy Acker & Juliet Landau were also there.

Oh Dust, this was indeed of interest!! Wonderful photos, too, (you should post the link...just edit your post above) and I don't think I would have recognized James at all! DB's smirk is priceless. You are one lucky fan to have arms around two of the sexiest ex-vampires out there.

The thing I find extremely amazing is that whenever stars appear "Across the Pond," as it were, that there is such a close interaction with fans. You would *never* see that in the States...fans posing with actors? It would never happen! Perhaps because we U.S. fans are slightly crazy?

I'm jealous, but happy for you, considering your trip from NZ was probably long. It sounds like you had a wonderful time.

PS Drool drool drool over that photo!!!

Thanks so much for posting this. I was wondering what James was gonna look like after he shaved his head!

Me again, LOL, I went through all the photos and noticed that David does look a lot better than he did on the final seasons of Angel. He seems healthy and fit, like you said in your blog, and I wonder if this has to do with the fact that he's now able to take time off to relax and get healthy after years of hard TV work.

Siiiiiigh...I have to stop looking at the photos because my jealousy is off the charts!

ETA: Did you notice James's knee brace on his right knee? Interesting.

Rhymephile, no - I didn't notice James' knee brace!!!! How weird is that?! I guess I was too busy staring at his face

And yes, David looked absolutely gorgeous, even right at the beginning when he said he felt rough; lucky sod to be so goddamn beautiful...sigh. And, if that wasn't bad enough, he actually looks BETTER in real life. BTW - neither James or David wore any makeup! Life is so unfair...grumble grumble.

If it makes you feel any better, I'll be paying off the joy of the whole experience on my credit card from now til Xmas 05! But would I pay for the 3mins or so of actual one-2-one-ness with David & James again? Hell YES!!!! If you ever do get the opportunity to meet any of them, DO IT! It is _so_ worth it. You learn so much unexpected stuff about Hollywood and the filmaking industry as well as the people themselves.

I went cause I'll be off home to NZ again in a year or so, so figured this might be my once in a lifetime chance to meet them. And because I was sick of being jealous of other people meeting them

Hey Dust,

Just a fantastic report on the event - I was there but was too busy being 'in the moment' to take notes - I wanted to find a detailed report so I could torture all my buffy buddies about how great the event was, so now I have my photos and your words.

I remember you btw saying you were from NZ - did you fly all that way or are you in the UK on 'missionary' duty??

And don't feel bad about the torture of fellow fans - they were at the White room Convention at the same time and their surprise guests included Nathan and Morena so it will be a mutual torture thing - seeing as I couldn't be in two places at once.

I'm currently living in the UK - coming up to 6 years (gulp - might be time to go home soon!)

Glad you found my diary useful! I wrote it all down on the Sat night and then the week that followed. I have a terrible memory and that was one weekend I wanted to remember lots of details about, so I just _had_ to write it all down!

What did you think of the weekend? Who did you get to chat to?

Shame we didn't know that each other would be there - would have been nice to hook up! Ah, well, maybe next time...er...provided I can escape the Hellmouth that is my credit card bill!!!!

I thought the weekend was great :) - After going to the Brighton Event last year I feared he might not be back :(

At this event he just seemed so much fun, happy to be there, hot goddamit (he was a little quiet during autographs) and very very entertaining. Perhaps he was more at ease with James around.

I got to chat to most of the guest, nice talk with Jane Espenson about Yam Shams and so on. I had seen Amy earlier in June so I was talking to her about babies and whether she was going to get together with J August and Christian at the White Room - She said they were hopefully meeting up on Sunday and I nearly invited myself along (now wouldn't that have been cool). It is my thing to paint portraits of the actors and ask them to autograph instead of the photos and everyone was very complimentary, James & Amy especially so. You can check them out at :

It would be great to meet up sometime at the next event, as you say shame we didn't do it this time. Well if your credit card recovers and you feel like spending some more on the UK cons next year I'll probably be at the Serenity Con in April 2005, I am booked to the Quor'toth Angel Con in June and Prime Buffy event Sept.
