Angsty Teenager role moved from Buffy to Angel?

Ok, so Dawn is now kicking butt and taking names, she's brushed off the whole teen angst thing...

And I'm watching the Season premier of Angel, watching Connor throw his little temper tantrums, and thinking "crap. Connor is Dawn, Take 2"

I hope they straighten him out fast, or I will hate him as much as I hated Dawn up until the last 2 episodes of Buffy Season 6 (for the record, that was a lot. I was the one saying "I hope they kill Dawn" when I heard rumors of a death in the Scoobies).

I loved Angel's parting line to Connor in Episode 1:
"I'm your father and I'll always love you. Now get out of my house."

Think Connor will see the error of his ways? or forever be just Holtz' son?

I can't even cope with the idea of Angel having a family life. Even one as dysfunctional as his. (I mean, all kids want to put their parents in a coffin and dump them in the Pacific at one time or other, but they get over it!) Having any kind of family seems totally at odds with the whole curse-of-a-soul thing.

I really like what they're doing with Connor! I don't know why people think it's so bad. They made Connor look and act a lot like Darla. We can really believe that he is Angel's and Darla's son. Connor is going to haunt Angel with the memories he has of Darla. Angel doesn't know how to control Connor, and he can never bring himself to be cruel to him. This is a terrific storyline!!!

OK, I'll give you that when Connor is fighting, he is pretty cool. I like the tough-guy thing. It works. What bugs me is the way he is when he talks to Angel and Fred and Gunn. I understand the way he is with Angel, because he has that whole "you're evil" thing going. But why was he sassing Fred and Gunn? and this was happening even before they knew what he did to Angel!

I hope they do something cool with him soon. Either bring him around to Angel or have him start the attack. The problem being that if they do either, they are treading on already over-used ground. The whole "I can't deal with the vamp with a soul" thing has been done a couple times already. Kate and Holtz and Justine. And the whole starting off hating him for being a vamp and slowly coming around to working with him has been happening non-stop since Angel first outted himself to Buffy.

I'm excited about the Connor storyline. But I hope they get on with it... I'm getting impatient with these little snippits here and there of him taking care of himself and Angel watching.

Connor does not like Gunn and Fred because they have aligned themselves with The Beast. If you remember Holtz was the same way: Being Angel's friend knowing what he is makes you just as bad as Angel himself.

Personally, I love the whole Connor thing, and always have. I can't wait to see what they do with it. And I do not think that Connor is Dawn, take 2. Dawn was annoying because she was whiny and helpless, as exemplified in the nearly overused quote: "Dawn's in trouble. It must be Tuesday." Connor, however, is just grouchy, but certainly not helpless. Besides, I think that if Connor was anything less than grouchy at this point, it would be out of character to the point of absurdity.

I don't know... He seemed to like Fred, at least sometimes. And staying with them and fighting along side them while they searched for Angel and Cordy all summer, wouldn't that make *him* just as bad as them?

He probably stayed on to sabotage their attempts to locate Angel (which worked for a while), and also because he got to kill more vampires with G & F than with out them. Perfect Connor logic.
