Ok, I've seen all the eps of Angel and Buffy now, even though I watched several season out of order.

I know there's a lot of Spike lovers out there, but my favorite character has got to be....

Wesley, the Rogue Demon Hunter! I love the early, clumsy nerdy Wesley and the bad ass darkside Wesley he later becomes.

I just re-watched the Angel Season One episode where Wesley is dancing at Cordelia's party. It's just too funny.

Spike is probably my second favorite character.

I have to agree with you there Tash. Wes seemed to grow more than anyone else (good and bad), and he was the soul of the group.

Cordy grew a lot too, but she didn't get really interesting to me, until her last appearance.

I really liked Spike, because he seems to have everyone fooled (including the majority of the fans), because everyone seems to think he's crass and shallow, when in truth, he's probably one of the deepest characters on the show! Where Angel is haunted by his vampire past, Spike is haunted by his whole existance. He just hides it better.

Ultimately though, (like Willow on Buffy) I pick Wesley because he was the barometer of the show. His emotional state followed the tone of the show. When things were lighter and more hopeful, so was he, and towards the end, when hope seemed to be lost, his hope was also gone.

Special mention has to go to that "senior partner", controlling things from behind the curtain, Joss Whedon. Only the evil genius of Joss could come up with a way for Fred to die in Wes' arms, only to follow it up with Wesley dying in Fred's arms! Both moments were so heart breaking. When Wes died, the show died with him (IMHO).

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

I don't know Wes as a character too well because i started watching Buffy late in the game and only saw him in re-runs. Spike has always been my favorite character. I just started watching Angel in the beginning of season 5 for you guessed it...Spike, but in that very short time Wes grew on me...so much in fact that when he died on the series finale i was bauling my eyes out.

Spike still has to be my favorite. But Wesley is right behind him.

MAL: This is my scrap of nowhere. You go on and find your own.
SAFFRON: You can't just leave me here, on this
lifeless piece of crap moon...
MAL: Sure I can.
SAFFRON: I'll die.
MAL: Well, as a courtesy, you might start
getting busy on that, cause all this chatter ain't doin' me any kindness.

Wesley. The arc he travelled during the course of the show(s) is nothing short of incredible.

Let the Wesley Worship continue. . .

He is, hands down, my favorite character on any Joss show EVER. And a lot of that is the fact that the character was played by such an amazing actor, so that no matter where the story took the character -- hanger-on to leader to outcast, heartbreak to high comedy, anger to sorrow to disillusionment to two brief moments of true happiness -- Alexis Denisof made it believable and real and you never questioned it.

The fact that he made it all sexy as hell doesn't hurt either.

XANDER: Please, she-- Really?
ANYA: Of course. Nobody could do that much decoupage without calling on the powers of darkness.

If you like Wes that much having seen him as little as you have, just wait till you see him in seasons 2,3, and 4. He has been my favorite character since he showed up as the Rogue Demon Hunter in the middle of season 1. I understand why they killed his character off, but it was so sad to see him go. I will miss Wesley most of all, but I hope to see Alexis again. He is such a talented actor, it will be a crime if he does not get as much work as he wants.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I have to agree with everything that's been said about Wes/Alexis in this thread. I'd have to say that he was my favorite actor too, up until this season. And he's still my second favorite, but now after Fred-Illyria/Amy. Fred was always my favorite female character from all of Joss' shows, but until she was transformed into Illyria this year I had no idea what an incredible actress Amy Acker really is. She just totally blew my mind the second half of this season.

"That'll put marzipan on your pie plate, bingo!"

I like Wes as much as the next gal but I have to say that my favorite character has to be Willow. From nerd to bad ass-destroy-the-world cause-of-all-the-pain-witch she has probably been the character that has grown the most.

ARCBEATLE

I cant choose.... If its Buffy Verse THen it would HAVE TO be Pike from the movie, so dissapointed he never appeared again.

For Angel, DOyle, Hands down. He had a wonder full backstory, and was just so unlike any other main character, lieing and gambling, Whyd they have to kill him *sob*?

People only beleive somehting if it's in a movie
