What is
Firefly? |
Inspired by the Battle of
Gettysburg and the Reconstruction Era of the American Civil War,
Joss Whedon’s Firefly is the story of Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds
and his ragtag crew on the rogue Firefly class starship, Serenity,
and their struggle to stay alive in the wake of a galactic civil war
500 years
in the future.
"Thrust together by necessity, these disparate men and women are
cowboys of the future. They're seeking adventure and the good life,
but facing constant challenges on the new frontier, which test and
reveal their true identities. FIREFLY is about their unpredictable
lives and relationships, as well as their search for meaning in a
very uncertain time."

is Joss Whedon? |
Unless you've been in a coma for
most of the later part of the last millennia, there is no
reason why you wouldn't know who Joss Whedon is. Buffy the
Vampire Slayer, Angel, Titan A.E., Atlantis the Lost Empire, Alien
Resurrection, Toy Story, Parenthood, and yes, even Roseanne have
been scribed by one of Hollywood's more well-known and prolific
genre writers.

heard Firefly was cancelled before Christmas of 2002, is it true? |
Though officially put on "hiatus"
status by FOX, there are no new order for episodes of the critically
acclaimed sci-fi series. Translation: cancelled.

Firefly return to the air one day? |
Yes, but not to television.
Rather Firefly will become a full length feature film produced by
Universal Studios and Mutant Enemy, Inc.. Pre-production
starts in early 2004.
