What was it about him that caused a smile to creep across her lips? Was it because they were nearly the same height? Was it because she was enthralled by a man that wore his tie like that? Was it his hat, or that loveable accent? She couldn’t put her finger on the reason.

She’d always been turn on by the little guy since she’d imitated his speech back when the captain had gotten himself into all that trouble that time in Persephone.

Now here she found herself alone with him. Her skin acing for his touch. Her hands wanting to run her fingers through his near hairless head. Her arms wanting to pull his tie tight so that his tongue came out so that she could devour it with her own mouth. She was falling deeply, deeply for the fellow. A kingpin of the underworld on Persephone. A man that ruled other men. The maker and breaker of huge ( though criminal) deals. The bad boy……!

Why were women so obsessed with the “bad boy” image? The rebel? The captain was certainly a rebel and Inara loved him she knew. She, herself could read it in the companion. And she, she had fallen for the little guy that was loathed by so many others. A man that had more than likely been despised as a child, as a baby even. Probably never been breast fed by his own mother to say?

Well she loved him and she knew how it felt to be an outcast among people. She wanted him. She wanted him with every fiber of her being. Wait!! Did he just turn to see her. Did she notice a look of acknowledgment in his eyes that he knew? He knew she wanted him?

He came to her! Gripped her by the shoulders! She could sense the passion!! She looked into his eyes, he would love her, make love to her…..her head tilted back and she swoon as his lips found her neck. She was held in his vice like arms and she nearly fainted. She moaned……

“ River! River?”

The young girl opened her eyes. It was but a moment before she realized that she lay in her bunk on Serenity. She looked to see her brother standing at the entrance.

“You were moaning and twisting and fighting. Were you having bad dreams again…?”

She nodded her head to affirm.

“ Reavers?” He asked

“ No Badger……and we were lovers!”

“ My God sis, there has been more damage to your brain then I thought. I need to get more cat scans of your head!!” Came his answer.
