This is part of a project I'm working on on another site but I really like how it came out and I wanted to share. This is a picture of Mal in tHoG with the sweetest smile ever. I was done with conte pastels.
I always welcome input. What do you all think?

Wow! The likeness is really good. (Mal's eyes and the smile are spot on. I like the way that his hair has been drawn too.)

Very good, Kayna. The eyes and lips really speak to you in this picture. Almost looks as if our Captain is looking at his own newborn child. You got the smile dead on; the lips are great. I also like how you used the blue tints in the shading to show a sort of 'looming shadow' in the picture. The different strokes of color in the hair along with the lowlights in the back are well done. The whispy red background also looks as if it sugguests a flashback or a frozen moment in time. Picturesque and shiny, as all should be.

This is one of the best pieces of fan art I've ever seen. Are you an artist? This is gorgeous and it really shows talent. You really captured him -- his look, his personality, his way.
I love his eys. (Especially that crinkle! I agree with nosadseven on that detail. Awesome!)
You know what? Perhaps not the original, I know that'd be hard to part with, but you ought to send him (Nathan Fillion) a scan or a photo of this or something. I bet he'd be really flattered.
