2010 has started, Happy New Year everybody!

The biggest news from my personal place in the world is, that I will be a member of the Signal crew as writer and editor this upcoming season. Should any of you not know: The Signal is a podcast dedicated to Firefly and Serenity (what else? ;) ) and has been flyin' for five years already. If you are into podcasts, check it out. It is really great and has a lot of stuff interesting for browncoats: news, interviews, music, original mini auido-plays, reviews etc. You can find their website here:

Whatelse? I have new ram and a new TFT screen for my computer and for that reason have picked up creating fanvideos again. I am currently working on a music vid for "Being Human", using the song "When I'm gone" by 3 Doors Down.

Talking of "Being Human" ... great show. Seriously. If you don't know it yet, check it out. You will find it online in the usual places. AFAIK, the second season is starting today? It's a BBC three series and it will be a while till it will make it's way to me. But the first season was entirely brilliant.

I was a bit sceptical at first, because it is about a vampire and a werewolf sharing a house in Bristol which is haunted by Annie, the ghost of a young girl who died there. Vampires have pretty much been done to death, for my liking, and the setup sounded more like something of a comedy to me than a drama series. But I was wrong. It's fantastic. Not that it is not funny. It is, very much so ... in a typical British way, with lots of absurd situations. But it is also very heartbreaking and exciting. Think Buffy condensed in six episodes and without prostetic faces.

The second TV series I just recently discovered which totally worked for me is Leverage. It's a bit "The A-Team" meets "Ocean's Eleven", so this is really more on the funny side, but it has brilliant characters and a feeling of family to it which is not so unlike Firefly. The only thing that keeps this great show to be an utterly brilliant one is maybe that the protagonists, even though they are originally thieves, are a bit too much in the do-gooder's camp. They have quirks, but they are almost sickeningly righteous. A bit of a Jayne-factor would do the show some good. But Christian Kane (Whedon fans know him as Lindsey from Angel, of course) as hitter Eliot Spencer is a real treat (from the female point of view) and I guess Beth Riesgraf as Parker is almost as loveable as River for the menfolks out there. Oh, and Mark Sheppard aka Badger plays a recurring antagonist. And he is really great, in a very Badger-like way. If you live in the US (or use an appropriate proxy), you can watch all episodes on the TNT website. Check it out, I guarantee, it's worth your while.

I have a very happy purring cat on my lap, BTW. Granny is absolutely thrilled that I did watch so much TV in the past days, because that means she gets a lot of quality scratching and petting time. She settled in real nicely and it is such a pleasure to have her.

Okay, that's it for now ... have fun and keep flyin'
