After taking care of the unfinished business he started to do missions for the alliance. For instince arresting some thugs killing escaped criminals stuff like that. When the alliance thought he was ready they put him into a healing a special water tank that downloads special missions like the capture of river and the death of the crew of serenity. Once downloaded he went to the burial site that was made by the crew for the dead friends of serenity, so he can use his high intellect to revive there old pilot wash. After this he goes to the planet were the crew is and spies on them. Until he sees where they were headed then buries himself in the sand wasteland where they will walk. Once the crew walks right over him he emerges from the sand, but with river tam's mind reading ability she brings a sword out and blocks zeth's attack. Mal tries to shoot him but with is speed he cuts the bullet in half. After a couple of minutes of fighting he calls for a ride and when his ship come he jumps on top of his ship and they catch a glipmse of wash . thThe reason why wash didn't go back was he had a mind control device which was also on zeth as well.
