First Entry on Firefly -- The TV Show
Tuesday, December 28, 2004

I just bought the DVD set of Firefly: The Complete Series for the first time. I had never seen the show when it first aired on Fox back in late 2002, but I was intrigued by the entire concept, the whole show, etc. After all, I love Joss Whedon, not to mention that I am a HUGE Buffy and Angel fan.

Anyhow....I've been watching 4 or 5 episodes of this short-lived show....and like I said above...

IT ROCKS!!! It's an awesome show!!! Gods, this is a great show! What was Fox thinking when they pulled the plug on it??? They never gave it a chance.

Those pricks. lol

Anyhow, it's a sweet show. I love it. I can't wait for Serenity to come out....the movie that is.

Need I say more???

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your wonderful responses.

I am very pleased with this site. It's a great way to make great connections with other Firefly fans, and I love the show so dearly. :-D

As a new Browncoat, I can't wait for the Big Damned Movie!! Hehehe!!! And, in case anyone hasn't noticed, I think Morena Baccarin is HOT!!!! ::winks at her:: I love her as Inara....

I would love to meet Jewel Staite ("Kaylee") and Adam Baldwin ("Jayne"). They sound like a couple of cool people to chat with. Even Nathan Fillion sounds cool to chat with too...especially as Captain Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds. Hehehe!!

By the way, since you asked Deryck, can anyone tell me what are some of the good Chinese phrases used in each episode and what they actually mean???? I don't know Chinese, but then maybe it's such a good idea to do it. :-)

Well trained cats! I'm envious, as our cat is good at demanding, not so good at giving. At least not dvds and such.

Though his coat is of a brownish colour.

Oh yeah, welcome, NsB!

My case is the same as Todd's. My cats (appropriately named Oz, Angelus and Drusilla, guess why?) gave me the Firefly DVDs for Xmas. I was converted after the pilot and "The Train Job". Absolutely brilliant! I asked some questions about the Chinese, which was the first thing that jumped at me while watching, in another board and was directed here to your reference section. Needless to say, I loved it and loved the explanations so much that now some of the phrases used in the show have become signatures for my emails, which pop up randomly. Also, I've started using appropriate phrases to address the cats, which respond to them quite well.

Anyway, I had the chance of meeting both Joss and Nathan Fillion at the High Stakes party, and even though Joss said that anybody could get into "Serenity" without having seen the show, Nathan insisted that it'd be better if I did watch the show on DVD. Man, was he right! I can't wait for September to see the BDM, which I will take as a late birthday present.

Take me to the black!

Welcome to the site NightseekingBear!Glad to see another Browncoat join the ranks!

I'm also a huge fan of Buffy and Angel and never truly discovered Firefly until a few months ago. It's unlike anything I'd seen before!

Can't wait to see the Big Damn Movie too!!!

Everyone's cool here. If you need help navigating the site or have any other questions just ask. There's always someone here who can help.

Hope to see you around the boards!

Keep flyin'!
